a show about muslims and jews that doesn’t center on their conflict with each other, terrorism, or the holocaust, and for many members of the cast, the 1st show where they get to play authentic, well rounded, characters that aren’t stereotypes
the most asians nominated in a season ever
a jukebox musical that’s finally about a person of color, more specifically an african american singer/composer
ny times’ best bet for best director for play and musical are women
shows who based their book on a previous works including a more diverse cast and creating new content for it
a show talking about how love can take more forms than just romantic love
more women and people of color being a part of the creative and producing team
a show tackling colorism in a community of people of color
1st show featuring asians to be nominated that wasn’t inherently racist towards asians
the most nominated play of all time being a story about gay people during the aids crisis written by someone who is gay and jewish
