I know that there’s more footage for the Waiting for Godot performance that Rik and Adrian did. I mean there’s absolutely no way someone recorded them for a minute turned the camera off and then waited for half the play to pass and then recorded them for 30 seconds. THERES JUST NO WAY!

Also half the footage I can find has some voiceover on it, so even if I’m wrong, which I’m not, and someone actually did only record a few minutes scattered throughout the play there’s definitely without a shadow of a doubt more audio to the already available footage.

I just know this tape is sitting in storage somewhere and no one cares enough to release it.

I think this is a good time to mention (considering I only really found this out like 2 nights ago) that Chris Ryan, aka Dave Hedgehog, was in the play with them! I haven't a clue who he played, how much time on stage he got nor if there are any more photos out there, but might as well add to the collection :)

Makes it even sadder that there is barely any content of this play because not only would it have been great to see, but we'd get more content of our classic Britcom actors and their friendships on screen

God I really need to read about Richie getting a hug or a kiss or any sort of attention at all.

Watching season 1 Richie does this to me, he’s just so lonely and depressed. The hurt/comfort fanfiction is calling to me but I cant find many, I mean I’ve read practically everything Bottom related and a little bit fall under this category I suppose, but I need more!

Anyone got recommendations? I’ve looked through ao3 multiple times and internet archive ao3 and fanfiction.net’s fics tagged bottom as well as fanfiction.net’s untagged britcom section.

But I mean, I haven’t read ALL of it, and there is always the chance I missed something good, sooo recs pls!

When Dennis and Lesley are in their hotel room for the first night in The Supergrass it is so funny omfg.

He’s all done up in his pajamas nice and ready for bed and then he sees that she’s taken her shirt off. Oh my god Dennis, she’s showing off her chest! You’ve got to match the vibe of the room Dennis! He quickly unbuttons his shirt and spreads it open to show his chest. Phew, that was a close call Dennis, you almost didn’t match the vibe of the room there and- oh my god she’s putting on a nightgown! She was only getting changed! Hurry hurry button it back up hurry before she notices!! Phew, you successfully matched the vibe of the room, that was a close call there Dennis.

Fans of The Supergrass chime in! I just watched it and loved it, but I’ve seen some people say that they laughed the whole time and I’d just like to ask, what was so funny? I’m genuinely curious, I loved it, I’m looking forward to watching it again, and there definitely were a few moments where I was laughing my ass off, but for the majority of the film I was questioning if it was even a comedy. It has this weird feel where a lot of things were happening that would really only work if it was a comedy, but it just, aside from a few moments, wasn’t all that funny.

So yeah do you guys think it’s a comedy? And if you are one of those people who laughed the whole time, explain, because I’ve got to know!

God I love the carnival episode of Bottom, which is called Hole. Of course I also love the final episode. It’s called Carnival. It’s not the episode where they’re at a carnival though. That one’s Hole.

It is funny but Im a bit miffed at it.

I love the double jokes every time an actual husband wife situation comes up with Richie and Eddie. In day to day life in the show obviously Richie is the wife, they joke about it, it’s obvious to everyone.

But then in Bottom live 1 when they get married it’s all Eddie’s Richie’s wife now?? Which is just double funny because NO RICHIE’S THE WIFE!

And in the third season when they’re pretending to be husband and wife, you’re at the edge of your seat ready for Richie to enter the next scene somehow done up as the wife, but no it’s Eddie. Eddie’s the wife. It’s so funny.

Obviously Rik and Adrian knew that Richie is obviously the wife, so they purposefully decided to make Eddie the wife to shock people and double up how funny it is. Just brilliant.

Yet another Adrian character named Eddie lol, I think Adrian does a good job of playing pathetic types (and of course loud violent types). Every scene where Eddie was in deep despair was really great.

I’d been putting off watching the last two live shows because IMDb said that they’re bad and I already thought that the live shows although fun weren’t as good as the show…

But today I said what the heck let’s go and I watched the fourth live show. WHO WAS GOING TO TELL ME THAT IT’S GREAT??

Funniest thing I’ve ever seen, laughed the entire time, it is a literal masterpiece, if you haven’t seen it yet then do yourself a favor and watch it NOW

If you’re looking for fic ideas to write boy have I got one:

I need a Bottom fic where some girl for some reason in an impossible moment of madness actually falls for either Richie or Eddie and starts hanging around the flat and dating one or them and is VERY surprised when she realizes that they’re a package deal. Even better if she doesn’t like the other one.

Like she’s hanging at the flat and she’s talking kind of politely but dismissively to the one she isn’t dating and is like “so when are you going home?” And he responds like “I live here???”

And she’s always seeing them fighting and battering each other so she thinks it’ll end soon but somehow despite the fights they always seem to go on dates as a threesome rather then just her and the one she likes? So one day she asks as casually as she can “so how long have you been… together?” She’s not sure if she’s asking how long they’ve lived together or how long they’ve known each other or what, but he responds “oh 25 years” or something of the like and she realizes shit, this isn’t gonna end is it.

And maybe in one of the fights she overhears they could bring up the fact that they’re technically married and idk this just seems so funny to me.

I’m sort of picturing this with her dating Eddie but either way is hilarious, works both ways lol

Right so this morning I was lying in bed, or well yknow more sitting in bed, because I’d already finished with the lying down bit- I wasn’t asleep like- not anymore if yknow what I mean. And I was sitting there and I thought to myself, yknow what Kevin you’ve just had one hell of night- because I had. Or well I thought I had at least, sort of inferred it by my surroundings, there were bottles here and bottles there- well not actually over there not that you can see where I’m pointing, but they were in my room and so was I and so were my eyes, which is how I saw them. There was also this house plant, and I don’t think it was my house plant- I suppose it could have been, I could have forgotten it I suppose, but I don’t think so, I haven’t been forgetting like that in ages anyway. So I walked over to this plant, oh sorry- this house plant, the same one I mentioned right before yknow- anyway- I walked over to it. Got out of bed first, then walked over to it and well- this is getting sort of long winded now, should I talk about something else do you think? No no I’ll finish the story- it was an ant.

Alright lol, didn’t use any paragraphs cause I figured it felt more ramble like that way. Honestly it’s not as fun as it looks, he rambles on like hell, reading it again I feel like I was too short, but well, oh well.

Guys I just started The Comic Strip Presents and why does it make even less sense than The Young Ones, I mean right on I had a glad time of it but holy shit lmao

Watched the 1981 ep then straight into the series. E1 was fun af, idk it was cute as hell. Then E2 War, I just- like what did I watch??

It was like all the bits of the young ones where they cut away to something hardly related and random, but that was all there was. I didn’t even realize there was a plot at all until it concluded when they met again and made out.

Anyhow, this is your sign fans of shows like this, watch The Comic Strip, I had a blast.

Guys I’ve got a Bottom fanfic idea, hear me out.

So it’s outsider pov just some random person, and one of the Bottom duo has started to come round their place. Shop, restaurant, pub, whatever the fuck works. Could be either Richie or Eddie, the idea works for both of them, but for the sake of explaining it easily I’m just gonna pick one so uh Richie.

Now this random person is just doing their job and Richie is coming round more and more, not even interacting with them, but they notice him because he’s a regular and he stands out being a perverted bastard and all. They notice that he always appears to be a bit beat up, now they don’t worry at first but then they notice his hands are always fine, no split and bruised knuckles, he’s not fighting back. Now they didn’t exactly like him before they noticed this, and they don’t now, but they start to feel rather sorry for him and rather worried for him. Does he have an abusive partner? Maybe he’s so annoying because he’s being hurt at home? Oh gosh should they do something…?

Anyhow, punchline is that his hands aren’t hurt cause it’s a fucking comedy series and Richie and Eddie have cartoon physics and don’t get hurt themselves when beating each other up.

Now our dear outsider pov person here discovers this somehow. Maybe they interacted with Richie and somehow made it back to his flat and witnessed him and Eddie brawling, maybe Eddie finally came with Richie to the place and they saw them fighting then.

Anyhow this is long af, but basically I think it’d be hilarious to read a very dark and sad fic where this person spends all their time worried for poor Richie only in the end for them to watch in astonishment as he punches Eddie repeatedly in the face and doesn’t hurt his hands once.

I rest my case.

The way Kevin Turvey tells stories is obvs long winded and silly and all the funnier for it, but kinda nice right? I mean we tend to forget the mundane things in life and water it down to just the big moments, which is obviously much better for the listener but as the story teller I think it’d be fun to be Kevin now and again.

Like yeah alright if you asked me what I did today I’d say that I read some books. And that’d be that. But idk man, wouldn’t it be hilarious and great if instead I went play by play for 10min and explained all the little details?

But look here, Vyvyan is a muscleless bastard, have you ever looked at his arms?? Not a muscle in sight. Rick on the other hand while he isn’t built or whatever you say is certainly a bigger person than Vyvyan, taller, more muscle mass (not that that’s saying much because as previously stated Vyv has got NONE).
