Hello! Do you have any tips for sewing your own dresses/clothes? (I’m pretty sure I read in your bio that you sew your own dresses? I apologize if I’m wrong) because you always look so lovely & cute clothing always seems to cost a ton of money. Thanks so much, I hope you’re having a lovely day/night. (Love your blog btw!!) :D
Thank you! No, you’re right, I sew my own dresses. I think I’ve answered this question before but thats okay!
If you’re a beginner, buy some of those sewing guide patterns. That’s how I started. At my local fabric store they have tons of those packets in different fashion styles (usually kinda ugly but use your fabric of choice) that can help guide you and give you an idea on how sewing your own clothes works. Then you can move onto experimenting with different styles and eventually start making up your own patterns. That’s what I kinda did with all my dresses. They are pretty much all the exact same style, different fabrics. Then I pair them all with professionally made cardigans, cuz I can’t make those. So even if the dress looks kinda doo doo, the nice cardigan can pull it together enough that it looks like a decent outfit.
I would say I’m definitely not good at sewing. I do everything by hand and it takes way longer than if I were to use a sewing machine, which could give it a more professional look. Your first few pieces may not go well or look the way you wanted but keep trying. I have so many old dresses I’ve retired because of bad /wonky sewing and they just looked weird on me. Always keep extra of the fabric you’re using stored away. You might need repairs or want to add something extra in the future and that particular print may be retired.
This is random and I'm sorry if you've been asked (and/or answered) this before, but what are your tips on making a room cute? I've been wanting to decorate my gaming room super cute like how you do it, but I don't know where to start. Do you possibly have any tips? 💓☄
Hmmmm....well, this stuff is probably obvious...buut- I have a lot of toys and stuff...so if you also have a lot of toys or figurines, you can buy some shelves (paint them (if needed) and set them up on each side of your tv! I like to display starting with the bigger stuff in back, and the smaller stuff in front. You could do cool things like organize and display stuff based on colors, or by character. Add some cool string lights all around the shelves to give it a nice night time mood. Or, you can do some small wall shelves and put 1 or 2 figurines on them and just have a few of those in your room. The way you set those up can be creative as well.
Also, if you have posters (or in Japan, they have a lot of beautiful towels) with video game characters on them, you can always frame those and hang them. (No one needs to know they are towels, don’t judge. :P)
I personally like to keep my room a certain style and theme. So most of my furniture is pink, white, and some gold. I think too many colors (can be fun) but can also start to look like a clowns house if you don’t do it right.
Well....I hoped that helped...? I wouldn’t say I’m an expert in anything, I just try my best. Hah.
Those moon shelves are amazing!! You’re so creative and it’s really wonderful and inspiring to see your DIY projects and photos :)
