This was a piece done by Kris graves called “Shashin”.This was one of the many pieces in his Testament series. What I really enjoy about this piece is the color, the use of the blues, pinks, and reds make the picture really pop.As for what the piece makes me think of is someone in a club.As they are looking into the crowd of people, you don’t hear the noise of the club.So all you are left with this is solemn image of man peering into the distance. For me the colors on the portraits is what I really like about Kris’s work. They add a new layer to the shots that would be missing without the color.I also like how the each piece has it’s own story other than my interpretation.I think it’s good that people were able to lift off some weight off them selves with these self portraits.Overall I think Kris Graves has a interesting line up and I would like to see the work of his future endeavors.
