Just checked on an Osprey after callers reported the bird entangled in fishing line perched on Lower Sugarloaf Sound Bridge power lines. The way the bird was sitting on lines made it appear as if entangled. Bird was checked closely before it flew off. Flight strong- no entanglement. Good news this morning!
The Great White Heron originally rescued down weak and unstable on 5/31 from the 1700 block of Jamaica Drive was returned to the wild today after rehabilitation was complete at Key West Wildlife Center. www.keywestwildlifecenter.org
Just rescued this Sooty Tern down with a wing injury on the fishing bridge between Upper Sugarloaf and Cudjoe Key. The Tern's injury was stabilized on the bridge and we are now transporting the patient for evaluation and treatment in our clinic. www.keywestwildlifecenter.org
Patient Update: The White Ibis originally rescued down at Julia and Thomas unable to stand has made great strides towards full recovery in our clinic. The Ibis is now standing and and eating without assistance. Our hydrotherapy tub aided in the overall improvements. Happy to partner with Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center to get two American White Pelicans released. Key West Wildlife Center rescued and treated the smaller female, and the large male was transferred from Tavernier to our center after treatment at their facility. Both were rescued weak, underweight, and unable to stand. They will be returned to the wild together! "Keep them Flying!"

This young White-crowned Pigeon was rescued down in traffic at the Triangle by MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife Officer Sargent. The patient is recovering from impact related trauma in our clinic. This young Red-bellied Woodpecker was rescued down with a hair net entanglement around the beak on Nassau Lane. The entanglement was safely removed and the patient will be returned to the wild as soon as recovery is complete in our clinic. www.keywestwildlifecenter.org

The young Northern Cardinal rescued down with facial injuries and abrasions on Sugarloaf Key has improved and the wounds are almost fully healed. The patient continues to work towards an eventual return to the wild after rehabilitation is complete in our clinic. www.keywestwildlifecenter.org
This Double-crested Cormorant was rescued down this morning at Big Pine Fishing Lodge. The Cormorant is weak, dehydrated, has poor feather condition and a foot injury. The patient has begun rehabilitation in our clinic by receiving fluids. www.keywestwildlifecenter.org
