“The Elephant Centre “ This is a little video me and my team (Harry Moore, Adam Shah and Somayeh Farahi) created to promote elephant and castle.
Some general research on Nike got me thinking about the power of labels.
A Korean chef and a Polish dude open a bar... Located in the Bridgeport area of Chicago, Kimski is the Polish-Korean love child of emerging celebrity chef Won Kim and neighborhood renaissance man Ed Marzewski. Serving up fusion street food such as Polish sausage with kimchi sauerkraut in what has been described as a beer hall from outer space, the branding brief was simple: make it weird. We did just that. Click here to see what's on the menu.
For the Eko Kitchen project I was mainly inspired by the work of Franklyn, a graphic design studio in NYC and especially their branding for Kimski. I wanted to create my own pictogram like symbols for food and they were the perfect fit for the raw sub-brand.
For the products I thought a pattern that can be applied to different items would be appropriate and functional. A catchy slogan would also be a good idea. Although I abandoned that idea early on, the products would reveal how many people you fed depending on the price of the tote.
When I decided I wanted a logotype for the Eko Kitchen subbrand I was interested in making a connection to the visual language of arabic. After almost 50 sketches and 2 name changes I came up with a name that reflects the character of the charity and resembles arabic letters. The lucky discovery is that the name actually spells “sun” in arabic. The keywords show what I had in mind for the brands vibe and how I came up with the name.
This image by Paul Graham became part of my inspiration during the filming of Beigel Bake. Although there are eight people in total in the photo every one of them is their own portrait; they are together and separate at the same time.
Here are some key thoughts for 159 Brick Lane video: delli store mundaneness, people’s interaction with the beigel store, the characters that make it special, the staff. This is the treatment for our up and coming video.
This is part of a photography project by twentyfour7.
“Throughout 2015, the collective graced Brick Lane’s famous bakery with their lenses. Shooting a series of twenty-four images of people visiting the ’24/7′ institution around the clock, capturing portraits of local characters, epicures, tourists, midnight snackers, eating-on-the-goers and morning-after-the-night-before revellers.” —http://ldntwentyfour7.com/
Found on http://kulachek.com/. — Hm, looks a lot like a website interface I designed for Mellow Pages Library in NYC ---> https://www.behance.net/gallery/44840785/Mellow-Pages-Library
Worked on this logo for a few hours just to discover that, yet again, it could never be enough to represent who I am as a graphic designer. The search goes on. You live an you learn.
Work really hard, take an interest in the subject and really show passion for design. I’d prefer to see a less polished portfolio that shows talent than a super polished one. The polish is something that can be taught, but raw talent is in the genes.

Loved finding these little pieces of wisdom in Foyles. All true.
May or may have not been inspired by Mr. Bingo's talk the other night while planning my life.
I visited the new London Design Museum today and got an information overdose. First came a brief history of design, then a whole world unfolded in front of my eyes. The lectures and books from the past years came to life on the second floor (the free part.) Iconic logos hanging from the ceiling, brief history of type faces, old and new technologies, revolutionary posters and early advertising, all jumbled up together! Obviously I ended up where I always do in these extreme situations - the book store!
Kimski from Franklyn on Vimeo. I almost cried when I found this branding project by Franklyn, a studio in my hometown Brooklyn!!!
