In order to make fasting as easy on myself as possible, I decided to try and keep fasting to two kinds of days:
- Days where I know I’ll be inactive physically, but busy mentally. E.g. a day like today. I’ve been sitting on my ass at the university all day, as I’m writing a draft for some text to be used in a group paper which is to be handed in on June 10th. I’ve been super productive - in just two days I’ve written 7,6 pages of text, and it’s not even complete rubbish. But yeah, that’s kept me busy, and stopped me from thinking about food.Â
- Days that lie after big parties, dinners out, late dinners etc. E.g. days where I probably feel full when I wake up, and hence have a natural urge to not eat, because I’m simply not hungy until way past noon.
Right now its 4:42 pm, and I still haven’t hit a wall with regards to hunger. I feel an emptiness in my stomach, but I’m accepting it rather than feeling annoyed by it.Â
To keep my stomach full and my energy levels up, I drank  4 cups of coffee sweetened with 100ml of almond milk (and lots of water obviously!), so my total calorie intake so far today is 43 calories, which leave lots of room for today’s dinner.Â
Dinner will consist of chicken meatballs with cheese, bacon, onion and spinach, as well as some sort of salad - probably either beetroot salad with pomegranate, or some sort of pointed cabbage salad - I also have some leftover waldorf salad which I probably should be eating today. So many choices!Â
The past two (non-restricted) eating days, I’ve been eating sensibly and making sure to get my 10,000 steps in (I use a FitBit to track my activity level). When I stepped on the scale this morning, it read 72,9 kg, which is actually already a weight loss of 1,1 kg since starting 5:2. It’s probably mostly water weight, as I was seriously bloated on the day where I noted down my starting stats, but who cares right? It all counts ;)
