5:2 - first day of fasting!
I’ve decided to try out the 5:2 fast, combining it with my usual lchf diet.
I’m giving it 10 weeks - until August 8th, where we’ll be going on a holiday to somewhere warm and lovely, and where I don’t want to think about weight loss. After that, I’ll decide whether to stick with 5:2 for the rest of my weight loss.
I’ve done intermittent fasting before, as in 16:8, but I’ve never tried going for 500kcal a day purposely before.
...Until today!
I woke up late and took some measurements, weighed in, prepared some dinner around lunch time to bring to work.
Then I went to work at noon, and didn’t eat until around two, where I ate an apple. Around 18:30, I ate dinner consisting of:
One cutlet A small avocado in squares and eight cherry tomatoes stirred with around 70g cottage cheese.
When I got home from work around ten I didn’t really feel hungry, but my stomach was yelling at me, and I had some calories left, so I drank half a cup of chicken stock.
I’m quite amazed how well I’m functioning, as I had an idea that I would be ragingly hungry - but nope, I’m not the slightest bit bothered! I drank so much water today though, I’m pretty sure I peed like fifteen times.
