HOW can you say that?!?!?! HOW can you sit there and watch Asa say “scrumptious” and “tickety-boo,” bring out the hot cocoa, and then watch Anthony absolutely GEEK OUT over the universe and point out the NIGHTINGALE while they hold hands under the night sky — and then look me dead in the eyes and tell me that’s not them?!?!?!
Like I’m sorry but that is literally their ESSENCE reincarnated into human form. Same souls. Same love. Same ridiculous little mannerisms. They found each other AGAIN. What more do you WANT FROM ME!!!!!!!!
I liked the Good Omens finale and I refuse to feel bad about it.
This is a rant. About many things. And I will compare it to the OFMD finale. And specifically Izzy and what happened to him.

Why I liked it:
Crowley and Aziraphale chose their ending. They chose to have no God/Angels/Demons/Ineffable plan because they saw the outcome of a universe with those things and they decided against it.
They still found each other and fell in love and got married.
There are multitudes of possibilities. The world still happened. Without divine intervention and that means that history still happens. Ie: Jesus is a mortal man, Rome happened. King Arthur, Shakespeare, etc.
They could have met before. Reincarnation again and again. And they could have found each other in each century. Over and over and over.
They are still them (for me). I see traces of Crowley/ Aziraphale. Bookshop. Fascination with stars, "tickety boo", the nightingale. Cocoa.
I don’t see the ending as nihilistic. The purpose for them is to have free will. To experience human life. To be human.
DESPITE THIS: they still find each other. For me, this is the perfect example of ‘I would find you in every universe’ with a twist.
Asa flirts.
Now the personal bit. I watched the season 2 finale when it came out. And it destroyed me. And then I found OFMD, and if you know me you know how big a deal that was. I tattooed La Vie en Rose and Izzy’s polaris on my chest after he died.
For me the ending SUCKED. I HATED IT. I still don’t like it. I had a pretty popular TikTok account at that time that blew up a few times, and I made myriads of videos and edits.
Until the ending. I hated it. I hated that Stede and Ed got an ending just like that. I didn’t like that Ed’s abuse of Izzy was glossed over and that after surviving having his leg shot off, amputation and alcoholism he was to die by a bullet. In Ed’s arms. He didn’t deserve that. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DIED.
Izzy healed. Izzy lived. And then, Izzy died. My love for that showed immediately went away when they buried him in Ed’s yard.
OFMD was canceled without the expected season 3. It was just canceled without any good reason. I spent months writing emails and was a part of the renew group. Nothing.
And that’s fine. It happens, but my special interest for that show died with Izzy. It felt like a punch in the face.
My point is -> Good Omens could have had an ending like that. Or it could have been cancelled entirely after NG and season 2. Or a Supernatural ending. A queer-bait, disastrous mocking ending. This isn’t that for me.
For me, this is the best outcome for the show. With the cut-downs, the wait and the NG disaster the fact that we got this ending, a married Aziracrow feels like a miracle.
Someone likened the ending to suicide and I was genuinely shocked. For me the finale was full of hope??
The care that David and Michael have taken with these characters over the years is remarkable.
I am happy and grateful that I got what I got. I was scared of an OFMD ending. I was scared of Izzy 2.0.
Instead I got flirty Asa, Professor Crowley and a cottage. I got rings, stars, cocoa and patio chairs.
I didn’t feel like the s3 was rushed or wrong. It feels entirely like Aziracrow would do this.
"Did I say the wrong thing?" says Crowley. That for me really underlines his character growth. And Aziraphale finally saying what he feels in front of GOD (and Satan alike).
TLDR: I loved it. I will write fanfiction and sprinkle in magic. No God ≠ No miracles.
I feel like the ending means that Asa and Anthony are somewhere in our world. Our universe. Drinking cocoa and looking at the stars. And for some reason that makes me very happy.
I feel a bit alone in the loving it, so I wanted to say something.

Not only does it continue to not be possible to do such a sneaking, but it’s getting less and less possible the older I get.
High School me could pull the occasional all-nighter and be at least partly functional for most of the next day, but 30 year old me absolutely cannot.
