When you want to write as a character no one remembers anymore, or rejoin a fandom, but realize the only two characters you enjoy writing as are now 'old news' =_=
Fifteen years ago today, you led us out of the darkness. You commanded the greatest rescue armada in history. Then, the unimaginable. What did that cost you? Your faith? Your faith in us? Your faith in yourself? Tell us, why did you leave Starfleet, Admiral?
âSTAR TREK: PICARD

He frowned and stormed towards her, ignoring her comment, getting within her personal space. âDid you think I would not find out?â For a moment something flashed behind his eyes and his features softened into something sad, but it was only a flash and the anger, the hurt, the betrayal was there once again. âThough I suppose I was blind enough to not figure it out for myself.â He spat.Â

Sickbay
He frowned as she brought fingers up to trace the scar across his tattoo, and may have flinched at the contact, a slight shiver running down his spine. He was almost thankful when she moved on, focusing his attention on the wall in front of him.Â
He hummed in response as she started to talk about Dr. McCoy. The man did seem to frighten half the crew members. Even if he did not care for the man, he could respect him. He was good at his job, and simply did not care for distractions, or people who got in the way of his doing his job. Then he quirked a brow and looked towards her as she mentioned how he had looked.
âLost? Me?â He scoffed and shook his head slightly. âHardly. I am many things, but lost is not one of them.â He shifted slightly as she worked, humming in response here and there, being the good patient that would get him back to engineering.Â
It wasnât that he didnât enjoy the stares and whispers he got from the rest of the crew, it was simply that he... didnât. And engineering, though It may have been a cramped place, was a place he considered- home. The Scotsman was always quick to real in the aggressive behavior, whether because he actually cared, or he was worried that one day heâd snap and hurt a crew member he wasnât sure- but regardless it had created... dare he think it, a safe space for him on the ship.Â
âThe ship will grow on you.â He finally mused. âIf you stay long enough of course, the ship has a way of growing on people.â he paused a moment and blinked, a look crossing his face as if he hadnât meant to say that out loud. He cleared his throat slightly and took a breath. âWell... it grows on those who stay-â He thought about the people who had transferred to another ship. âBut you have to have the right attitude. A spirit of knowing any day could be the day the captain gets you killed.â He looked towards her again, looking her up and down as if trying to decide something.Â
He eventually gave a small shrug, âPersonally, given your dedication to your job, I feel that the ship will grow on you.â He took a breath and glanced around them. âIs there anything else I need to do?âÂ
He paused a moment, thinking over her question, eyes cast down as he did so. âI believe the only time I have done something I did not want to do was when my family was being dangled over my head as incentive.â He snapped his eyes back to her face. âLast I checked you did not hold such power.â Though he did not take another step towards her, his body seemed to lean towards her own. âSo yes.â he purred. âI am near you because I desire to be.â He eventually did take another step towards her. âThe question is, do you desire the same thing? Or was this all, as you put it, simply because there was nothing better to do?â

â-If anybody deserves a second chance, itâs Jim Kirk.â
HE USED MY FRIENDS TO CONTROL ME. I TRIED TO SMUGGLE THEM TO SAFETY BY CONCEALING THEM IN THE VERY WEAPONS I HAD DESIGNED, BUT I WAS DISCOVERED. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO ESCAPE ALONE, & WHEN I DID, I HAD EVERY REASON TO SUSPECT THAT MARCUS HAD KILLED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE PEOPLE I HOLD MOST DEAR. SO, IÂ RESPONDED IN KIND. MY CREW IS MY FAMILY, KIRK. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD NOT DO FOR YOUR FAMILY ?
Planet side fun
Khanâs ears perked up as Cha-Cha started talking about some group. âAndorian brotherhood?â He asked, puzzled. He had felt heâd familiarized himself with all known threats to star fleet- So this had to be a group that was either unknown to Star fleet, or one Marcus had deemed as not a threat. But to have Cha-Cha on edge as she was? He decided it was that the brotherhood was someone Star fleet didnât know about.Â
Alicia quickly added information to the file. Apparently they had not been heard from for ten years. âThat doesnât mean anything. No one heard from me and my crew for some three hundred years and yet here w-â There was a slight stumble to his words, â-here I am. Just because you donât here from someone for a length of time doesnât mean that they are gone.âÂ
He nodded his head as Alicia asked to find new clothes and followed behind the two women dutifully. If he saw something that caught his eye to eat heâd stop long enough to purchase it. While they walked though he found himself keeping an eye out for anyone who might look like a threat, Cha-Chaâs worries slowly seeping into his mind. âCha-Cha, who were the Andorian Brotherhood, and why do they have you on edge? I was beginning to think nothing could truly shake you.â
