IT’S ALMOST SUBCONSCIOUS, the way she gnaws on the plush of her bottom lip, taps her foot and twists the silver jewelry that adorns her fingers – nervous ticks she’d never quite gotten rid of. but can you blame her ?? the hallway’s wrapped in a thick blanket of darkness, etched in charcoal and ink ( she can’t really tell where it begins and where it ends ) and maybe it’s because of the horror movie she watched the other night, but jisoo could swear there’s some sort of noise not far away from her; something between dragging and stumbling and dear god, would they just open the door already —
for a moment, she thinks she’d rather deal with the darkness, instead of the blinding flash of white that hits her square in the face.
“ i came here for help, not to permanently lose my eyesight. ” she whines, a hand coming up to cover her face; dark hues just barely peeking between slender fingers. she doesn’t mean for it to come off accusatory, though she realizes – albeit a bit too late – that it probably does sound that way. and so, jisoo tries again; straightens herself up and clears her throat, smiling sheepishly at the other. “ help, yes – i don’t suppose you have, ah, extra candles lying around ?? or a flashlight, or a lamp or – anything, really, anything would work, just something that emits light ?? i’ve got an assignment for tomorrow that i haven’t even started and it seems like the power’s out in the entire block and i was freaking out too much to just stay there in the darkness – ” she stops for a moment to catch her breath. “ you’d be saving my life, seriously. ”
"oops." she mumbled quietly to herself. she hadn't meant to blind the girl at the door but with it being so dark she could not tell who had been standing at her door. her cheeks burned a dark red at how embarrassed she was. she shined her flashlight away from the other to the wall behind her, so that she could still see the face of who she was talking to. her eyes widened in recognition once she realized who had been standing at her front door. "jisoo!" she all but yelled. "come inside. it's too dark and scary in the hallway." she pouted as she grabbed onto the other's arm to bring her inside. once both of them where inside her apartment she slammed the door shut and locked it. "you said you needed help is everything okay?" she asked in concern. "hold on, i'll go make some tea. keep talking though, i promise i'm listening!" she told jisoo before she quickly goes the kitchen. it's when she's in the kitchen that she realizes the power is out so she has no way of making tea for the both of them. she pouts all the way back to the other and rubbed at her neck sheepishly. "sorry no tea. i just forgot the power was out." she frowned. she nodded along to what the other was saying as she listened. "i was actually just looking for a couple of flashlights. i don't have any candles because i'm scared of fire." she blushed again, sheepishly laughing once more. she rocked back and forth on her heels nervously, "you can help me look if you want? you probably don't want me to leave you in the darkness right now and i kind of don't want to be alone in the darkness myself right now."
