Easton sighed. âPeaceâŠbetween us.â He shook his head. Things had become such a mess. What happened with Michael and now Gabrielle missing. Things were all over the place and Easton had no control over anything. That was part of what was driving him crazy about all of this. Easton was a man who had to have control over everything, or at least an appearance of control at all times. But right now, he was all over the place and this was his worst case scenario.  âThanks.â He said to the bartender as he slide across payment for the two drinks and a hefty tip.
Easton felt the other move closer to him before pulling it back. Easton nodded at his comment about others. He knew that it might be noticed. But he enjoyed the others company as much as anyone else, or really more than anyone elses he entertained. Kiaan challenged him in ways others didnât try to and it was why he always went back for more. But he knew it was a dangerous game and he knew that no matter what he or they may have wanted, it wasnât a game they couldnât continue playing forever. The events of recent months showed him just how dangerous it could be. âI guess history shows us no matter what we do, disaster is where any of this would have headed.â He responded taking a drink from his glass.
âSo why is it then, that we both know this is a bad idea, yet neither one of us are walking away right now?â He asked, contemplating the question himself. He was always measured in all his actions, never taking risks that didnât have specific calculated outcomes. But right now, here he stood, next to someone who was probably the last person he should be, wanting nothing more than to capture his lips in his own in this room full of people, half of which would shoot him dead where he stood before he could even get close enough to press his lips to the others.
Conclusion
Taking the apparent out that Easton was giving him, Kiaan tried to leave the conversation but Easton stopped him with a hand on his arm. The space around them got quiet, more that a few sets of hostile and wary eyes fixated on the scene before Kiaan quietly insisted that Easton let him go. The other man did so, reluctantly, and moved to leave while Kiaan did the same.
END.
