A close up of materials and texture
Trying to figure out this image. I am playing with new materials and I feel like my mind is not working the way it usually does.
Making some progress.
Project Progress
The project I am working on is a 6ft x 4ft image based on the concept I have been working on for several semesters now. In short, my concept centers around aerial landscapes and being unaware of ones overall surroundings. The image I am working on is made with different threads to imply changes in visual depth. Working on this image has been an extremely tedious task, as every line is sewn into the paper. Each mark must be thought out and done carefully in order to avoid any tears or damage to the paper.
What I have done:
Painted the background
Purchased materials needed
In the process of working on the image
Completed around 15%-20% of the image overall
What I need to do:
Complete the main area of the image
Decide if any other elements need to be included
Decide on additional materials/ embellishments if needed
Research materials needed for its display
Purchase those materials and attempt display
Completed November 1st:
I hope to complete an additional 15%-20% of my image by Novemeber 1st. I do not see it being any further than that because of how tedious it is. Getting from one end of the paper to the other one to two times can take up to three hours. With that that said, I do not see my image being completed this fall semester due to the amount of detail I would like it to have.
Just a little insight on the concept my work has been centered around for the past few semesters.
This past Friday I picked my work up from the Anson Mills building. I am so thankful to have been chosen to have my work displayed. The summer went by so quickly, but this opportunity would not have been possible without Professor Cochran. I am so very thankful!
This is how I feel most of the time. I just get this rush of ideas and try to quickly not them down. Then aside from school projects.. It seems you never have time.
Using new materials and I am a bit nervous. Fingers crossed!
Sometimes we need to remember why we started and listen to the signs.
A close up of my preliminary sketches. Feeling excited!
Drafting out some spread ideas and jotting down some notes for each spread.
Some progress on my catalog layout. Silk needs some tweaking.
Researching some of Paul Rand's work for my graphic design catalog. I am in love with his children's book illustrations.
I would like to have my work displayed on a window. This allows me to incorporate my dots into the image in a different way. Although, i need to figure out how to have it mounted properly.
Made some progress on my large drawing.
