Hellooo !! I was wondering what your favourite Casey ships were and if you have any headcanons you’d like to share about them :P Or just how you think their dynamic would be and whatnot !!

so my favourite casey ships are casey x april, casey x karai and casey x raph. obviously these ships aren’t canon, so when i talk about them, i like to talk about what could’ve and should’ve been rather than what actually was present in the show.

casey and april - these two in my eyes should’ve been soulmates (as close as two humans can get), and are in my own interpretations of the show. they are so very mutual with one another, when they do something, they do it together, not trying to protect the other or hold them back. when they think, they think together, especially since april can read casey’s mind almost like a second nature, whereas she has to try harder when reading other’s minds. they understand each other and their mutual loss so well, even with their differences they’re reflections of the other. there’s never any, “don’t do that, i’ll protect you, you’re not strong enough.” it’s always “you can do this, you know your strengths.” they work so well together when there’s no one else in the way.

casey and karai - this one’s just for fun but i get more enjoyment out of it than i expected. their relationship is very much running into each other and beating each other up, or karai will find casey in the street and take him away for time together. casey’s pretty chill with the fact his girlfriend is a half-mutant snake who appears whenever she wants, terrifies him and likes to kiss him in front of everyone else to make them all go “yuuuuuck!”. when things start to calm down, the shredder is gone, their relationship changes into something a lot more stable, casey stays with her as his family have died, and they leave everyone else wondering what karai sees in him. simple, in her eyes he’s cute and does what he’s told.

casey and raph - like combining two pieces of dynamite. they love each other so much, but can’t calm down and there will be regular explosions. i like the idea that casey just cannot behave himself, blows shit up, gets kidnapped by the foot so raph will come save him, that sort of stuff that gets raph angry with him. even better if casey is an anti-hero, considered an enemy to mutants and the hamato clan, yet apparently has a thing going on with the hamato clan’s muscle?? after they stop casey from blowing up a bridge, raph sneaks over to his super secret lair because he can’t help himself and needs to see casey. leo is so very irritated with this, so is donnie, mikey thinks its very funny. i can’t put what i mean into words exactly, but you can visual in your head a mischievous, jinx-like casey and an ekko-like raph (arcane ref) who is tired of his shenanigans and is trying to bring him over to the good side because he just loves him so much.

sure! i don’t have much opinion on them, personally i don’t headcanon it and i haven’t seen any evidence for it, but then again it’s all just fun in the fandom so sure go for it!

i think with the lack of casey’s background, you could headcanon anything you wanted within reason. i have seen some really nice au’s where they explore those headcanons. personally, i don’t think it’s canon so i don’t headcanon it, but i also think it’s harmless and the fanart is always beautiful :P

ohhh anon i am so sorry you have asked the wrong person😭i have to be careful right now because i know the majority of casey fans ship jonatello and will likely block me for this but i do not ship jonatello, im sorryyy.

my opinions on it, since you’re asking, i will try not to be harsh but i do have strong feelings about it. i dislike the ship because it doesn’t interest me, i think it’s out of character, i don’t like the way they treat each other and yeah it’s just not for me. and it is a really frustrating existence in this fandom to dislike jonatello as the majority of casey content is centred around it and it’s hard to find casey content that is not ship or donnie related.

i think whatever jonatello shippers see when watching the show, i definitely don’t, and i wouldn’t even dislike the ship so strongly if i didn’t encounter it so often in the fandom and have to be blocked so many times because i say i don’t like the ship and i don’t think it does casey’s character justice. that’s just my opinion though obviously i don’t have the right to decide what does and doesn’t do a character that’s not mine justice. i just felt like a lot of jonatello content didn’t capture casey in the way i enjoyed, or even a way that i found accurate, which is fine because we’re all entitled to enjoy everything in our own way, but that’s just my reason for disliking the ship, so i don’t seem like a mindless hater.

and you might be wondering, if i hate jonatello so much, why do i interact with it? well, i don’t! it actually finds its way to me, constantly. jonatello shippers love to comment on my posts on tiktok if i post any other ship thats not jonatello. they love to comment on videos and posts that arent ship posts. they love to repost my posts and make them jonatello. i can’t escape it and it’s frustrating, in this fandom you have no choice but to see it and you can’t tailor it out. i am being a bit dramatic, it’s fine of course, but i also wanna be truthful about how i’m feeling and i’m a dramatic person.

so to sum it up, no i don’t ship jonatello, i actually dislike jonatello, and it makes my experience in the fandom lowkey suck because obviously jonatello is all you see and i think it’s the biggest disservice to casey’s character that the fandom has ever done

ever since he was 13 and his mom died, when casey cries, he cannot help but murmur “mom” and even “i want my mom”. which cuts his dad up inside when he tries to comfort casey and hears that.

thats actually how raph discovered casey’s mom was dead, after he whispered he wanted his mom after a bad breakdown and raph asked where his mom was and, could he help casey get to her?

which set casey off harder as he told raph she was dead. which made raph feel awful because damn, casey just wants mom but she’s dead, and he didn’t even know he was going through that grief. he goes easier on casey after that. and it’s strange to him now much he begins to notice that casey’s mom is dead.

the way he talks in conversations about moms, careful, or nothing at all. the way he shys away from TV shows about moms almost like it hurts. the sad expression after something great happens that lasts only a few seconds, and raph knows he wants more than anything to tell his mom about it. it’s always been so obvious yet only he knows casey’s suffering from a grief they couldn’t even fathom (but will feel by the time S4 rolls around sorry guys…)

my ramble, food for thought, about one interpretation of casey's dad.

so the main six and karai have just finished a mission and are hanging out on top of a rooftop. it's around this time that a bar on the street below them is closing. the door opens, and a bunch of happy drunks spill out of the bar. the group watches, as there's nothing else going on, except for casey, who jumps down without telling anyone.

and then, they see casey on the street, and he seems to be going up to this group of drunk guys, which is very strange and unexpected to them, and they look at each other like "???". there's a drunk in the middle, notably the tallest and pretty muscular, and considering the rest of the extras on the new york streets in this universe are all built the same, the others are again a little surprised. and casey goes up to this guy, seems to grab his arms to get his attention, and starts excitedly talking to him.

the guy immediately puts casey in a gentle headlock and starts messing up his hair, before giving him some money. after, casey runs back to the group, all "hey, my dad gave me fifty bucks, we can order something?" the others, who've never seen or heard much about casey's dad before, are quite pleasantly surprised.

especially now they have fifty bucks to add to their four combined dollars.

i like the idea of casey and his dad having a good relationship while also not knowing where the other is most of the time. casey's dad loves him a lot, while also giving him a lot more freedom than supernanny would recommend. after this, when casey realised the others were interested in his family and wanted to know more about them, he would answer calls from his dad on speakerphone instead of walking out of the lair to take them, or would mention his mom when she came up instead of letting the opportunity pass because surely no one wants to hear about someone's dead mom while they're trying to have fun?

yeah so what's my point? yeah idk i dont have one thanks for coming
