ASK CRITERIA (read before you ask! It's alright to skim) and GENERAL INFORMATION:

RULES AND TRIVIA ARE BELOW THE CUT

- NO INAPPROPRIATE ASKS. this is a daycare AU, don't be a sicko!

- SHIPS ARE ALLOWED (to an extent). obviously anything between adults and children will not be tolerated, and anything crude won't either, but cute interactions between two adults or two children are fine! (Note: ships will not go past anything other than hugging, holding hands, or maybe a kiss on the cheek)

- CHARACTERS MAY GET TIRED. it's obviously fine to spam the same character for questions, I'm absolutely fine with that! Just know that after a while that character may stop replying to do their own things. This should only last a few hours at most, so try coming back later if someone is inactive!

- PYRO USES THEY/THEM. this is just a personal preference, please respect it! It's okay if you slip up and use he/him, but try and remember it if you can!

- NO ONE IS DISGUSTING. It’s come to my attention that one character might be seen as a p3d0, which is NOT true! That will never be a plot point, and will never be seen on this blog, as it is horrible and wrong.

- HAVE FUN!

The three adults are Scout, Sniper, and Pyro. The kids might refer to them as their class names or their real names, Jeremy, Mick, and [insert any fire related nickname here]

The kids have names too! All of them use their canon titles. If you don't know them, here ya go! I've also included their ages for convenience:

Soldier - Jane (9)

Demo - Tavish (7)

Heavy - Misha (10)

Engie - Dell (6, youngest)

Medic - Ludwig (11, oldest)

Spy - sometimes goes by JJ or Luci (HC) (9)

Ms. Pauling is also available for asks! She's very busy, so she may not appear as often, but she's still open 24/7

Additional characters and NPCs such as the Administrator, Saxton Hale, and the mercs families will be available during special events, which I'll announce in advance!

@quazies I can't believe the next episode of Lil Pootis is coming out already- I'm super excited! I might've just lost interest in TF2, but I'll still be sure to watch it when it comes out. Quaz is a super talented animator and artist, and it's always a treat when they post. Can't wait!

Semi-Permanent Hiatus

Hello everyone! It's certainly been a while since I posted anything here, and I apologize for the lack of updates. I'm also very sorry that this is the update that you're getting...

QUICKLY, to clear the waters, some questions you may have!

Is Kid Fortress cancelled and/or gone forever?

No! Kid Fortress is, as stated, on a semi-permanent hiatus. This may sound like a fancy way of saying it's cancelled, but it's not! Putting it simply, I've fallen out of interest with the franchise and find myself not enjoying the artwork I produce for it now. I don't want to push myself into doing something I don't take pleasure in. That being said...

Will Kid Fortress come back in the future? When can I expect it?

Maybe. It depends on if I decide to come back to it anytime soon, which is also heavily dependent on many other outside factors! With this, I unfortunately can't give you any projected date where I might find interest in it again. Don't lose hope entirely, though! As mentioned, this isn't the END of Kid Fortress!

Can I create my own Kid Fortress content in your absence?

This one's a little complicated. Fan creations are heavily appreciated, and I'll reblog it here when I can! (use the tag #kidfortressfanart if you do, I'd love to see!) On the other hand, I wouldn't appreciate someone trying to extend the story line, or someone attempting to continue what I've left off. I know it sounds selfish, but it's just a personal preference of mine.

idk if this has been asked before but do the staff like to draw with the kids or is there like a little arts and craft period and who are the most creative (sorry if I worded this weird )

There's not really a mandated time for the kids to draw, but when one of them starts doodling or crafting they all seem to follow suit with creativity. Here's some of the staff's work, since the kids drawings are currently all on display!

what type of music do y'all like?

Jane: Father does not listen to music, and I do not like mom's prissy dancey stuff! I do not think I like music... Well... maybe a waltz....

Dell: Pawpaw an' Daddy can play the guitar real nice, my favorite times are when they let me come out an' fall asleep on the patio while they play! 'S country, right?

Misha: Mama likes to play russian classic, papa likes modern rock. I am not having opinions on either- Ah, I listen to Ludwig practice violin sometimes. I like that.

Tavish: Ah, nothin' like a good tune from a bagpipe.

Ludwig: I like classical music! Though, I also really enjoy jazz and.. funk, I believe? The ones with saxophones and accordions!

Luci: Ma mère listens to Edith Piaf, and a lady called Barbara. I don't have many opinions on music, but I prefer when mère plays these instead of her sad italian men.

Jeremy: You know me, ain't goin' a day without some Tom Jones!

Mick: I quite like Sinatra's early hits, though the Delltones'll always have a special place in m' aussie heart.
