Sure, his own breakup had affected him, for the first time in his life he actually thought it would work out…. but it didn’t. Normally he would be out looking for a one-night stand within a day, that didn’t happen. He was inconsolable for weeks. While Beomgyu and the other boys refused to go near him, you were sneaking out of your window and spending the night at his house. That was when things had changed for him.

You had both passed out on his bed after some intense mutual venting, he was certain that he had only ever viewed you in a platonic light. However, his dream said otherwise. “Jun, wake up, you’re having a nightmare”. Your warm voice coaxed his eyes to flutter open, he squinted in confusion, immediately realising what had happened. Shame engulfed him when he noticed the damp patch in his boxer briefs, time seemed to freeze “Sorry”. To this day he still didn’t know whether he was apologising for startling you or on behalf of his lewd dream, all he could do was swallow the lump that formed in his throat. He prayed to God that this was a once off, it wasn’t.

It was always the same dream, the one where he would wrap an arm around you while he gently guides you to lie down on your plush pink bedsheets. Hovering above you he would lean in and kiss you like his life depended on it. His fingers would trace your leg while he broke the connection. The moan you let out was music to his ears and your fingertips felt like silk when you reached for his arm. His needy baby was always so good to him, so he thought he would return the favour. “Ssh, I’ll make you feel good” you respond with three words, “I trust you”.

“I trust you.” Yeonjun’s eyes widen “H-huh?” His startled expression was met with your light smile “I was just saying, I trust you to not get us arrested. I know you’ll protect me; you’d be the worst friend ever if you didn’t.” “Of course, I will baby, when have I ever let you down?” the sly wink he gave you was pure ecstasy.

I think you and Johnny would go well together. You both strike me as people who enjoy both high energy and low energy situations, and you would really enjoy hanging out together. Johnny would drag you into these random new activities and you could show him your favorite hangouts as well. He would be the über-supportive boyfriend who takes off work when you're sick and makes sure that you take meds on time and you always have water on hand. Doyoung stood pursing his lips and wiggling his hips while he focused on the tower of milk bottles in front of him. You were conflicted, he was taking far too long but wow, his hips had you captivated. 

‘How did I get so lucky?’  

You were pulled from your thoughts by the boy finally throwing the ball, and just like the last ten times he hadn’t even gotten close to knocking over the bottles.

“Um...I’d like to think it is worth it. Another three please sir.”  You playfully rolled your eyes at his determination, it wasn’t unusual for him to be caught up in an idea but you honestly didn’t get it. Doyoung had said many times that he knew how rigged carnival games were, according to him they were a waste of time. What was so different about today?

Despite your bickering friendship, there was no denying the effect he had on you. Most of the day had been spent throwing hints at him, but here you were.

“I think I’m in love with you.” 

Instead of a response you were met with a loud crash as the milk bottles took a tumble. Doyoung turned to you, he tried his hardest to seem calm but his gummy smile betrayed him.

“Definitely not the best idea you’ve ever had, but I’ll happily take it.” 

“Oh and you can take this.” You were still trying to comprehend his response when he shoved a pink stuffed bear into your arms. 

“What’s this?”

“My heart.”
