In 2nd grade science, we created tableaux to represent the 3 layers of the Earth: Core, Mantle and Crust. The following week we created out entire Solar System in tableaux!
In Ms. Jamie's 2nd grade ELA class students used tableaux to better understand Cause & Effect in the story "If You Give A Moose A Muffin."
Student in the first grade learned about the life cycles of frogs and butterflies in Science and then created tableaux to show those cycles!
Ms. Molly recorded Ms. Jennifer's Kindergarden Art class telling the story of Where The Wild Things Are and the students will pantomime to their retelling of it while wearing their masks next week at the all-school assembly! Listen to the recording here!
For the past few months, Ms. Jennifer's Kindergarden art class has been working on Pantomime and mask-making inspired by Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Ms. Jamie's 2nd grade students continued their exploration of tablueax and sequencing through chapter 11 of Fantastic Mr. Fox.
When the first graders learned about different types of shelters, we created scripts as a class to demonstrate that knowledge. Here is the script about igloos from Ms. Andrea's class.
When Ms. Jamie’s 2nd grade ELA classes began reading Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl, students used the character traits in the text and our knowledge of how body centers help actors create characters to find the physical bodies of Boggis, Bunce, Bean and Mr. Fox.
Kindergardeners at ISL used group tableaux to demonstrate their geographical knowledge of places within the first floor of our school.
