kieran took a drag from a cigarette, blowing the air in the opposite direction of the person approaching him. it was cold outside, typical for a vancouver fall day, and he appreciated the afternoon chill on his face as he sat on the stoop of the apartment building listening to music through his earbuds, glancing as people walked down the sidewalk. when the person turned to walk up the steps kieran visibly groaned, leaning forward to get a look at the person.ย โ what the fuck are you looking at?ย โ he questioned, flicking ash off the tip of the cig.ย

kieranโs family is messy as fuck. his dad is an alcoholic mechanic who gets violent when heโs angryโand heโs angry a lot. his mother is long gone after skipping town to be with her married boss, leaving her three kids behind with a man who she didnโt even think was good enough for her anymore.ย
because his mother left, kieran lowkey got EMO and sad and heโs scared to death of being abandoned so he just became an asshole that pushes everyone away before they get a chance to leave him. the boy is as rough around the edges as u can get im so sorryย
in school though, despite being a big ole problem child, he was also the brightest student in class. teacherโs recognized his potential and pretty soon heโd gotten himself admitted to yale; the only kid in his class to get into an ivy league.ย
thereโs one thing kieran loves and itโs learning. heโs a book fiend, always with his face pushed into the pages of a long book, with a pen marking up the margins until the original text is almost unreadable.
now heโs a philosophy grad student at ubc who works as a barista to pay rent (and someday his student loans) while condescending customers and secretly plotting the day he has enough money to run away to a foreign country and start his life over.ย
ok gonna be real with u this boy is obsessed with love he wants it so bad but he doesnโt have a pure idea of what it is because heโs never really experienced love in a good way so yeah thatโs tough for himย
also heโs kind of a wild child who drinks too much and does cocaine just for kicks. heโs big into hedonism and living in the moment because often heโs so sad and numb that he canโt really feel anything else.ย
GRUMPY AS HELL. heโs really hard to like but heโs wicked smart and the kind of person that even though you hate him, thereโs something kind of cool about him. maybe itโs the leather jackets, motorcycle, and cigarettes or maybe itโs the mischievousย smile but kieran is magnetic.ย
