Yo! Im Kieran Dowling, an Irish acoustic guitarist. I was initially introduced to this style of music with the works of Andy McKee but I was inspired to play in this way after seeing Matt Marriott in concert. This led to the thought, "If a British man with a blue beard can do it, why can't I?" (Although as Matt has pointed out to me several times, it is now red). I play original compositions and some covers though mostly originals due to my technical prowess and lazy fingers.

My Mastery Bridge arrived during the week and I finally got around to setting it up and taking a few shots of it. There is certainly a big improvement in the sound a playability. As well as that, it looks incredible! Marvellous design and precission engineering.

More shopping this week at the Cosmo Music superstore north of Toronto, Canada:

Custom Shop lefty relic.  I would actually consider learning to play left-handed.  Just so I could buy (and actually use!) this lovely piece of alder and maple!

I love it when the Fender Custom shop does this…a finish (in this case Olympic White) over another finish (in this case sunburst”. Simulating  a very old and worn refin.

And here is a pristine Olympic White version…

You have no need for “string trees” when your tuners are this low!

Interesting tidbit! The idea behind the Fender CS relic'd guitars, like the one in pic 2 here, is that back in the day Fender had a big stock of sunburst strat bodies because they were the most popular. When they ran out or had a custom order of another colour (e.g. olympic white) they would just spray over the sunburst. A Fender rep talks about it in this video from Andertons!
