1915 c. Liberty and Company taupe silk-faille day dress with a paisley print at the hem. There is a lace net with floral embroidered under-bodice with a standing collar. It was owned by Mary George Bates. After graduating in 1907 from the Women’s College of Baltimore City, today known as Goucher College, she enrolled at Johns Hopkins University and graduated in 1913 as the institution’s first woman to earn a higher degree in philosophy.
