KIT: i'm really worried hunny. i don't like sleeping so many nights alone.

jaehyuk wasn’t one to usually ‘interact’ with people, it wasn’t because he didn’t want to or that it made him feel uncomfortable.. it was mostly because of the fact he figured he couldn’t due to his line of work. hell, his motto is ‘no one else gets in, no one else gets hurt’ and he stuck to that as best as he could. however, he was feeling rather adventurous at the moment and decided to approach someone in the lobby, bumping into them gently with a small apology instantly leaving his lips as he made his way towards the door. but he stopped a few steps from it, turning around to face the person he’d purposely bumped into with his usual smirk painted on his lips. “hey, is this yours?” jae asked, holding up the object he’d just pick-pocketed from them “i’ll make you a deal, you come with me to get food and you get this back, refuse and i keep it for a few days.” the male continued, his brow raising as he spoke, a slightly playful grin puling on the edges of his lips. “what’s it gonna be?”

Normally, Hunny is a pretty friendly person. He doesn’t like confrontation for the most part, and he chooses to greet the world with a warm disposition rather than a cold one. There aren’t many people that he fails to offer a smile to when he sees them, and he’ll even go out of his way to make complete strangers feel comfortable before he’ll worry about himself. Some situations, however, make it impossible for even him to be able to put a positive spin on them. Being bumped into in the lobby isn’t a big deal, and he even utters out an apology before he continues on his way, not thinking much of the person he had briefly collided with. It isn’t until he hears their voice calling out presumably to him that he hesitates, standing still to look at the watch in his hand that had previously been on Hunny’s wrist. He’s flushed from his run, and he’s not really in the mood to be dealing with this right now, and there’s just something about the entitled way he addresses him that rubs him the wrong way. Kihun does not have a smile right now. Not at all. “Why would I bargain for something that belongs to me?” Hunny’s voice is a bit guarded, a bit hesitant. “If you wanted to ask me on a date, you could’ve at least tried to have some tact. Even a little charm would’ve gone a long way. Give me my watch back.”

it’d been a bit since the last time she’d actually talked to kihun, the only time she’d even stopped by his apartment was to drop the small package of gifts she’d gotten for him over valentine’s day. so that’s why she finds herself sitting on his living room couch, his roommate had let her in and now she was patiently waiting for kihun to show up. “there he is, the pot of hunny i’ve been looking for.” olivia starts, eyes traveling over to the door as it opens, a smile pulling on her lips as she speaks. “i’ve been waiting for you for a good —” she teases, glancing down at her watch. “twenty minutes. if i had known you’d keep me waiting, i would have texted you and told you to make plans with me.” olivia continues, a small laugh falling from her lips. “i wanted to see if you liked your gifts.” // @kihcn

Hunny’s mind is in a lot of places when he enters his apartment, not the least of which happens to be the shower he so desperately needs after a long day of working. Given that his job is so physically taxing, he could probably go with a bit of rest too, but it seems the universe has other plans for him --- or rather, Olivia has other plans for him. Shutting the door behind him, he greets her with a wide smile, the bag he’s carrying over his shoulder sliding to the floor for the moment. He’ll move that later. “I was working.” He needlessly informs her, or rather it would be ‘needlessly’ if she had bothered to shoot him a text or anything. “Sorry, though. I wouldn’t have kept you waiting had I known. The gifts were absolutely wonderful! So thoughtful of you, really. You shouldn’t have.”

        “i have to admit…” he says, placing his clothes into the washing machine. “over the weekend, i got really drunk and decided, for whatever reason, that i was going to do one days worth of laundry,” he says, a laugh escaping his lips before he can even finish what he was saying. he put the detergent in washer, before turning it on. “but, it didn’t go as plan, because i fell down the stairs with the laundry basket, jumped up and shouted that i was okay really loudly, forgot what i was doing, and lost my laundry. so… i hope those clothes went to a really good home that’s gonna treat them right.”

“I think you are the only person I have ever met who wants to do laundry when they are drunk.” Hunny points it out with a cheerful disposition, clearly not meaning anything negative by it. It’s sort of cute, actually --- endearing at the very least. He tends to find something to like about almost everyone he meets, and this is no exception. “It seems strange to me that anybody would pick up some random person’s clothing from the hallway. Imagine somebody stealing your underwear. Weird. I wonder who has it all now.” He hums thoughtfully after saying that, and pauses for thought; it probably is no surprise when he comes up empty on the who of the matter. “Oh well. We could shop for new clothes?”

KIT: will you play with it once it's all soft and grown and wispy? i want fingers twirled and tangled in my new long locks!

HUNNY: well, it's your hair, so he SHOULD be coming around to it!!!

HUNNY: it's an honor to even be asked! of course i will... i can only imagine the majesty of it all

“oh.’’ jay knows he needs to calm down but he can’t help himself, especially when someone who he loves and cares about is sad. ‘’ i’m sorry. i should calm down it’s just ━ you are the one who always takes care of me and others, i wanna do the same for you.’’ he hesitates before wrapping his arm around the other when he leans into him. he doesn’t wanna suffocate hunny or make him feel uncomfortable.‘‘m-maybe it’s because there is something bothering you? or something that is making you feel sad?’‘ now that jay has calm down, he can finally or more like hopefully help hunny feel better.‘‘ no, it’s definitely not stupid and you are not stupid. everyone feels the same every now and then. there is a reason for you to feel sad or  ━ there isn’t which is also not stupid. im pretty sure everyone sees you like sunshine, including me but even the sun can ━ you know.’’

It isn’t Jay’s intent to make Hunny feel guilty, but nonetheless with the way his brain works, he feels a spike of it inside of him mixed with a very distinct anxiety when he says what he does. Is he not doing enough for the people he cares about? Is he being selfish? Should he stop talking? He doesn’t know, but he certainly doesn’t feel good about anything right now. “Oh.” He breathes it out, pausing for thought, but only briefly. “I guess I’m hidden behind clouds?” He tries that on, attempting to lighten the mood just a bit, but he’s pretty sure it falls short of playful. His tone doesn’t carry it well enough. “I think I’m just a bit homesick. It’s not um --- really that big of a deal, but I feel...more at home. With you.” Which is why he’d shown up here. He hadn’t meant to make Jay feel bad, or be a burden.

RYLAND: no. you're not wrong in that my intentions aren't entirely good though. partially, it's simple curiosity but selfishly i'd like to know what i saved you from. feeds my ego, see?

HUNNY: oh? make sure to fax me a list of your accomplishments asap.

HUNNY: hmmm. i suppose there's something to be said here for honesty... right? okay. you saved me from a night of either a) sitting by myself until i got uncomfortable enough to just go home, or b) ditching that party entirely and finding some random bar (re: some random person) to waste my time at (with). nothing too consequential, i guess. i was just a little lost.

HUNNY: sorry i couldn't feed your ego more.

“you can even spend the rest of your life here, don’t be silly.’’ he pushes hunny softly inside, making their way to the couch.  no need for an explanation, hunny’s face tells it all ― that he is not feeling great at all. ‘’ wanna talk about it? or we can  ― uhm cuddle like we used to…’’ the last part comes out as a whisper. jay suddenly panics, looking around to find something that might help him focus but he never knows what to do when someone he cares about is sad. he rarely gets sad and usually pushes his emotions away when he feels sadness but he wants to make hunny feel better. ‘’ or we can do whatever you want. we can just sit here and do nothing! i can bring you a drink! i think i also have some carrot and orange juice and… yeah.’’

“I’m not thirsty.” Hunny knows Jay is just trying to find any way to make him feel better, and there’s a little swell of guilt in his chest for that, like he’s inconveniencing him or making him feel awkward because he’s sad. Maybe coming here was a bad idea. He’s not really sure, but he’s here now, and there’s no taking it back. If he leaves, Jay will just keep worrying about him regardless, so he might as well stay and seek whatever comfort is possible. Settling himself down onto his sofa, he draws his legs up with him, hugging his knees to his chest before he leans into his ex like he means to stay there for a long time. His head rests on his shoulder. “I’ve just been feeling... so out of place lately. I don’t know how to explain it. Like I’m apart from everybody?” Or like he’s only wanted when somebody needs something from him. He knows that’s really not the case, that it’s his head playing tricks on him, mingling with that ever-present homesickness. Maybe he should visit home for a while. Take a couple of weeks to recover. “It’s really weird. And stupid. I feel stupid.”
