That aside, I came up with this recently after reading the wha manga, the worldbuilding in this is super fun to work around! As much as I love working with the seals, I wish there was a way to know if they worked properly...

since this was a rather recent idea I had, I don't have much on it, but here are some stuff I thought about (and might draw in the future?)

You can probably guess, but Kaito's apprentinces are the detective boys!

As for Shinichi... I thought about him being their watchful eye + a secret brimhat... as for what forbidden spells he practices then ..? I haven't thought that far ahead yet💧💧

I sorta made up the seal on Kaito's umbrella myself... So I'm not sure how well it works or if it makes sense... but if it does, it's supposed to act similar to a propeller!

I think Shinichi should also have a seal inside of his lamp that creates the bird? but I haven't gotten around to drawing that yet... Probably a mixture of agott's fire bird and the floating light/fire spell?

Kaishin knew eachother prior to becoming full fledged witches... you could probably tell but Shinichi's hat has Kaito's clover insignia as the charm!

the thing is, stephen king is generally pretty good at creating complex, well-rounded characters, which makes it all the more jarring when one of those characters abruptly comes out with what i'll term a "kingism". i don't know how best to define a kingism other than "you'll know it when you see it". it's the voice of the author intruding on the voice of the character, and in this case the voice of the author has a bad sense of humour and is ravenously, inexplicably horny

one of the hallmarks of a kingism is that when a character is being Horny On Main (or In Maine), they can never do it in a normal way. they have to come up with a sequence of words that nobody has ever said before in the history of the english language. here's another example:

Remember when Hiiro told Rinne that he wants to be Rinne's favourite idol, and Rinne told him that he already is? Yeah. I love them. They have come so far. The Matrix event is a gift.

I forgot how different Zaveid used to be in Tales of Zestiria in comparison to Tales of Berseria. I like how you can really tell how time has passed between these two games. He has changed a lot, but he is still the same in other ways. His morality has changed, not so much his personality itself.

I will forever mourn the Tales of Zestiria game not having the singing part. My videogame version only comes with the instrumental part. Which is a pity because it is one of my favourite songs. Among all Tales of openings it is in my top 5. The instrumentals are good. I like them, too, but I love the singing even more, so I inevitably end up muting the TV to play it on my ohone while the TV plays the video.

I also really appreciate Edna having the Phoenix normin doll (allthough that one probably isn't a doll) after playing Tales of Berseria. Before Tales of Berseria I didn't really notice it, but now I love that detail.

Now that I have completed Tales of Berseria I am quite confident in my answer. It was an over-all good game. I love the story and the characters. The characters felt a lot like the ones within Tales of Xillia in the sense that there is no clear favourite, and all dynamics in every constellations are great.

I also really loved all the parallels the game puls between Velvet (the protagonist) and Artorius (the antagonist). They are two sides of the same coin. They both do what is necessary for their goal, seemingly uncaring for what or whom they need to sacrifice to achieve it. That is especially enhanced with Artorius having raised Velvet. We love Velvet's deteriorating sanity, and how she learned to accept herself.

The game is very big on sacrifices, and how far a person would go to achieve it. Enslavement was a big topic once again as is the case in a lot of Tales of games with the Malakhims stripped of their free will to do the abbys bidding.

The ending was also very fitting of the game. Velvet not making it out alive didn't come out of nowhere. The game led up to that the entire time. I find it delightful. Velvet is a very fadcinating character, and it would have been fun to explore how she'd develop after fulfilling her goal. She had nothing else going for her. Learning to strive forward is difficult, especially since revenge is all that that kept her going. Without it, what is left? She didn't make it out alive, though. She is in an endless cycle of devouring Innominat, and getting devoured by Innominat. Laphicet and Velvet saying "I love you" before she succumbed to unconsciousness had me very emotional. Laphicet turning into the fifth god was also a neat ending.

What I didn't like is how often the game put a cut between men and women. How much they differentiated them from each other. There were a lot of talks where the differences came up, and I didn't like. Yes, men and women do have their differences, but they also share similarities.

I also didn't like how easy the boss fights were. They felt like regular fights. The big bosses had mythical artes, but outside of that there was no particular mechanic that made the fights feel special. The before and after cut-scenes were great, though.

How much weight fiction, and just the world places on romantic/sexual relations makes me sad. It leaves me feeling inferior. Incomplete. Unimportant. Wrong. Broken.

Sure, non-platonic relationships are important. They are part of life, and a lot of people share their lives with a partner. That doesn't mean that platonic relationships are meaningless. We form platonic bonds long before we can fall in love. There are our parents, friends, teachers. Not all of them last, but all of them are important to our development. They are who partly shape us into who we are. Yet somehow not having a lover means only ever being lonely.

i feel like people aren't getting how dire ai is. we are running out of drinkable water. our brains aren't engaging as much with what we see and hear. people near data centers don't get clean water and experience electricity blackouts. it's being used to make pornography of underaged people and women. it often just lies. it affirms everything. it lies. it has made people kill themselves. it lies for gods sake. and people act as if im dramatic for being staunchly against it.
