Hey all! I’m Sterling. They/them pronouns in the jolly ole city of New Orleans. Thanks for letting me into this group! Liam is a buddy I’ve been toying with in my head for a little while, so I’m excited to play him out. Here are the relevant details:
Born in Sussex. He had a single mother and three sisters. They have different fathers. No judgment from Liam; he thinks his mum is the coolest person who ever lived.
Mum met a rich American on a trip and did her thing to make sure she locked it down. They moved to Providence when Liam was twelve.
A decent student, nothing to sneeze at, but he never put much stock into academia. He was more concerned with music. Mum got him a cheap out-of-tune guitar when he first moved to America. A sorry I’m uprooting your entire fucking life present. He accepted.
And ever since then, music has been his only goal.
He came out at fourteen. It wasn’t a big deal. His stepfather may have looked a little concerned, briefly, but that died on his tongue with his mum’s death glare.
At fifteen, Liam joined his first band: Fanny’s Your Aunt. They mainly played in their bandmate’s garage, but for Liam, it was formative.
He began to branch off, writing songs and learning how to fly solo. He first stepped out into the solo world a few years later. He started playing in local coffee houses, and then local venues, getting “discovered” at seventeen.
Liam put out his first album shortly after. He wasn’t big, per se, but came to be known as a folksy-type singer in the Providence circuits.
Maybe fame went to his head, or maybe he just didn’t care, but he began sleeping around a bit. To this day, Liam has never had a committed relationship. Part of him wonders if he’ll just be able to pack everything up and get a lucrative career as a singer-songwriter. Leave Providence and move the fuck on.
The other part of him knows that he’ll never leave his sisters.
At this point, Liam definitely wants to settle down, but he’s just not sure it’s in the cards for him, given how far he is down the rabbit hole now.
