I cant believe this tweet is how I find out
now all the things you guys have told me about american high schools are starting to make sense
holy shit.
You're not really supposed to say it this way, because its considered crass, but here in the US children are culturally and legally considered essentially the property of their parents.
Note that its considered more crass to point this out than it is to treat children as property in the first place.

Fat Rights? Fat Chance! A History of Fat Liberation In The United States From 1967-1974
by @fatliberation
During the height of the Vietnam War, two months before Woodstock, one month before the moon landing, and just two weeks before the Stonewall Rebellion took place merely twenty miles away, another thread of U.S. history was quietly being written. On June 13th, 1969, an engineering student with no prior experience in political organizing and his fat comrades gathered in Westbury, N.Y. and ratified a constitution for a new human rights movement that was deemed shocking, laughable, and entirely unheard of.
Hey, everybody! My new article is finally finished and available to pre-read on ko-fi for $5. This is a dense history of organized fat activism in the U.S., focused on the late 60s to mid 70s. Learn about the Central Park Fat-In, the beginnings of the world’s first-documented fat rights organization, and the concurrent movement of feminist fat resistance led by queer practitioners of Radical Therapy (and more).
Like always, this article will eventually be unlocked for free, most likely in two or three months, depending on pre-sales. If you benefit from my work and are feeling resourced, consider making yours a recurring monthly tip so you don't lose access to my articles after 30 days.
I hope you enjoy the article and learn something new about fat history!
@fatliberation published a supporter-only post on Ko-fi!
This article is now available to read for free!
Unfortunately, I only made two pre-sales on this thing last month (shoutout to y'all <3), so I'm extra excited for it to be public and available for people to read and share. If you learned something, enjoy what you read, and want more content like this, please consider leaving a tip!
I think a lot people don't realise that microaggressions are still racist. Just cause you're not saying a slur or wishing death on black people doesn't mean you're not being racist. ALL racism counts.
Because Tumblr is very English speaking and some ppl like France a little too much I just want to remind you of a few things:
- France abolished the Code Noir 2 months ago. That law project that said hey you can enslave, mutilate, kill, cross breed, etc. black people at will bc they're not people they're property ? Yeah. Abolished 2 months ago. We are in July 2026.
- the last human zoo closed its doors in 1994 in France due to social pressure. Not bc they were running out of business, no. Ppl still visited that place until it closed its doors. No, it was bc (black) French people were fed up. That human zoo was specialized in displaying black (presumed Congolese) people in fake huts in enclosures, for white entertainment.
- now while this might no longer be the case, when I was growing up, I went to a French school (as in. It was an international French School w the French flag n all) and the way we were taught French geography was that France has the biggest and largest access to the sea in the world. And they'd show us a map of France and its colonies around the world. It's all occupied indigenous lands. I don't know if they still teach that. I hope not. But they absolutely did until I graduated high school in 2017. Again, I write this on July 21st 2026, for the record.
Anyways that's all I have for now. Y'all don't hate France enough. Y'all need to hate France more.
for real i don't think being racist towards black americans and native americans in our behalf is helping us at all in latin america. the energy and time you waste in calling a random black person "amerikkkan" or arguing that native americans are actually privileged for living in reservations and in food deserts could go towards helping madres buscadoras or donating to damnificados de venezuela or literally anything else you can imagine. please stop being racist online and instead help us in an actually tangible way. thankies
This is what I meant by how a lot of white supremacy is projection.
"I feel like my penis/my Manhood as a symbol is smaller than Black man's" becomes "Black men have oversized penises and are sexually insatiable beasts."
"I am sexually attracted to, fetishizing, and feel entitled to Black women's bodies" becomes "well she's asking for it, look at how she looks, Black women are always more openly sexual."
"I am afraid of approaching Black men" becomes "Black men are a threat."
"I am afraid of approaching Black women" becomes "Black women are always angry."
"I am not smart enough/not qualifed enough/can't beat my white counterparts professionally" becomes "DEI and affirmative action are letting those Blacks steal my position in school/jobs!"
Your own fears and insecurities about yourself somehow become a reflection of my humanity, when it had nothing to do with anything. And somehow enough people think that and now it's systemic instead of the made up nonsense it always was. Ijeoma Oluo called it mediocrity, James Baldwin called racism the white man's problem, and they remain correct.

Too lefty to participate in workplace conversations.
"Should we return this mountain's name to it's original indigenous name?" Yeah absolutely and while we're at it let's restore the ownership and operation of that mountain to the indigenous groups who were here originally.
My coworkers: "But we'd have to rename the rodeo."
If you hate Israel and then act like Canada and the USA are somehow good, salvageable, or in any way morally better than Israel I think you’re just as bad as the Zionists btw.
“Israel bought out the USA” as if the USA is somehow an innocent victim of Israeli influence, like it would somehow be a good settler-colony if the evil Israeli settler colony didn’t exist. lol. lmao even. The USA and Israel are just two settler-colonial countries built on imperialism and hatred, they love working together towards the same interests, actually.
Same for Canada, which committed a genocide against its indigenous peoples and still hasn’t given back most of the land that was illegally taken from them in clear violation of every “treaty” they ever made, treaties which they *continue to violate to this day* btw. They claim truth and reconciliation and hide behind their land acknowledgments, but really the only thing separating Israel from Canada is a time difference and normalization.
So yeah, if you’re a Canadian or USAmerican who thinks that you’re settler-colony is somehow better or more legitimate than Israel, I distrust you heavily and would suggest doing some more research into your country’s founding and continued existence through marginalized and indigenous perspectives, cause you aren’t so hot.
i think it would do a lot of people good to remember that Mormons are white supremacists, no nuance, no debate, no arguing how they've gotten "more diverse", their whole belief system is fundamentally rooted in white supremacist ideals

Christopher Nolan’s stylish biopic seeks in earnest, but in vain, to give moral and political complexity to 'the father of the atomic bomb'
Just a reminder that Saudi Arabia is responsible for one of the world's largest and most severe man made humanitarian emergencies. Their blockade of Yemen, which prevents food, water, medicine, and fuel from entering the country has caused a significant death toll. Emphasis here on man made as these were preventable.
Yemen relies on most of its food and medicine via imports and this blockade (land, sea, and air) has created an environment where 80% of Yemen relies on aid for survival. It's lead to so many people, mostly children, dying of starvation.
The rate of child malnutrition in Yemen is among the highest in the world with 2.3 million children under 5 requiring treatment for acute malnutrition. At one point a child died of starvation every 75 seconds.
This blockade is ongoing btw.
Here's a pretty comprehensive source
Isn't this exactly what the Trump administration wants to do to Cuba?
It is, and it's arguably what they're currently doing to Venezuela too. Sanctions haven't been taken down despite the oil industry seize and the humanitarian crisis stemming from the recent earthquakes, may I remind you folks.
And if Milei's government coalition survives another election cycle somehow, this is a very likely scenario looming on Argentina as well, along with a likely balkanising scenario if the zionist settlement in Patagonia materialises. They've made welfare there go right down the gutter in absolutely all respects.
