My students have some great moves
Their first ever s’mores. I felt like a proud mother.
My kids come in one form: adorable.
Even when they call me a carrot and a scorpion, my students are the cutest things.
My coworker listens to Chandelier on her computer during every break and every break, I can hear it through her headphones. I’m slightly concerned that she’s not sick of that song by now because I most certainly am.
Spent the weekend in Suzhou with this stunning creature. So glad she puts up with me for some reason. <3
Me and my girls rocking the Avengers: Age of Ultron gear. The Chinese girls behind us may have talked through the whole movie, but Chris Evans and RDJ looked fine, so it’s all good.
Guess who chopped off their hair?
My kids keep me happy <3
honestly i think the only reason being a hoe is considered a bad thing is that it implies that men are replaceable to you and it hurts their feelings so they put you down for it
Where I’m Currently at in my Life
Wearing heels (breaking them in for Italy) while doing laundry, sweeping, making dinner, and simultaneously learning Spanish through a podcast on my iTunes. I’m not sure who’s wet dream I am, but I’m somebody’s.
This is dragon fruit. It’s honestly not even that amazing. The flavor is really light and mild and if you mix it with stuff in a smoothie it kind of throws off the flavor. But I eat it all the time. Why?
Because it’s so freaking pretty and it’s name is dragon fruit. I’m a simple creature.
White rioters are usually called “revelers,” “celebrants” and “fans.” They’re not even called “rioters” in many cases. They’re not derided as “criminals,” “thugs,” “pigs” or even “violent.” Those descriptors, as events in Baltimore Monday night reveals yet again, are only reserved for black people. And the disparate reasons for rioting are just as eye-opening.
This scene still breaks my heart each and every single time I watch it.
Azula was a terrible, horrible person. She would have set the world aflame and laughed over the broken carcass of her brother.
But she was fourteen.
She was so ruined and twisted by her childhood and by her nation, driven to insanity by the expectations placed upon her.
Azula was bad and yet I can’t help but feel so terribly sorry for her.
“I don’t have sob stories like all of you.”
SHE WAS FUCKING FOURTEEN WHAT
“My own mother….thought I was a monster. She was right, of course, but it still hurt.”
actually, i think one of the shows strengths is that they didn’t shy away from what a horrible tragedy this was. even though she was clearly a villain and did unspeakably awful things, this scene was still framed as sad. there was no celebrating- they just look at her sadly.
the music for the battle that leads up to this moment is sad too- it’s an epic battle, visually probably one of the biggest things done in the entire series, and they could have played it with thumping, energetic, dangerous music. but instead it’s quiet and somber. because the whole scenario is heartbreaking, and they know it.
i think the fact that a kid’s show had so much respect for it’s viewers and their ability to understand the complexity of this situation is what makes avatar great.
