I think people tend to forget Terminators are technically asexual, and then write or illustrate about them in perverted or provactive ways which kind of rub me the wrong way personally. Of course I don't want to ruin anyone's fun but at the same time I just wish Terminators were more recognized as asexual characters and not always interpreted sexually in fanwork.
dont forget the fact that they are literal killing machines and in the first movie the t-800 is also supposed to be like an anti natalist , kills people gawking at him or having sex , ( uncle bob doesnt kill but does give a cold look or hurt those who gawk / get too close in the bar , like a " dont touch me / stay away from me " ) etc so that makes the disconnect / mischaracterizations even worse
another thing is that some terminator knockoffs / sequels where they are more sexualized tend to not be as good or feel really ironic and satirical , i think their asexuality ( and aromanticism ) along with their focus on their duty and their strenght are what make them so cool in a genuine way
!!! These are also very important details to add, it's things like this that structure the characters well in a way where they are indubitably aromantic and asexual. It just feels odd and out-of-character to sexualize them given these facts, regardless if sexualizing them is based on the logic of how headcanons "harmlessly" operate. And yes, I do think most headcanons ARE harmless but sometimes it can do harm with cases like this.
yeah , headcanons can be fun but in this case erasing that part of their characters misses the point not only in the characters themselves but also in general themes of the terminator story , and makes them feel more like any other random allo characters instead which is 💔
