New Court of Appeal appointee Justice Bradley Miller favours deferring to Ottawa in matters where broad moral issues are at stake
This guy -- like his patron -- is just scary. The Conservative Party of Canada, playing to its base, is trying to legislate morality, and now they are lining up the judicial branch to “defer” to the government that a minority of Canadians voted for.
The idea that the “right holder” should come second to a political party’s interpretation of “natural law” boggles my mind.
And why does the idea keep popping up that in order to “protect” traditional marriage, we have to ban marriage between same-sex partners. I've been in a “traditional” marriage for over 40 years. Still on the lookout for that “threat.”
