Anyways! Here's mordrets feelings on the mc, heat seeker!
At the point im at right now, he cares, a lot too. The first person to ever go "no you are human" and refuse the idea of him being some inhuman monster on all levels is them. Over and over they show they think of him as a human. He is trying to hide it, not well but the mc is a little stupid when it comes to people's feelings about them as a person. Like him calling the mc "my dear rival" hes barely hiding it.
Now after the night temple and second nightmare he didnt love them but he found them funny, entertaining if anything. He knows their smart, and very good at reading situations, probably people too, but yet they so rarely ever truly show it. He found that funny
During the third nightmare is when that feeling of "heh funny" goes to "you, you understand me on a level most are unwilling to try. You look into my soul willingly, and you dont see darkness but another person." And it quickly gets stronger. It truly shifts to 'romantic' when their first thought was to stabilize him when unrelenting storm attacks. When they grab his arm even before grabbing the railing. When they trust him enough to have their back in the fight.
After the third nightmare hes different to how he ended up in the actual webnovel, at first its only slightly, but those differences start to become far far bigger over time. I won't go into detail here, because i will in the fic, but the battle for bastion ends the same, but the dynamic between him and morgan is different.
After the domain war, its implied he just kinda pops up in one of their citadels from time to time. Casually too. Even managed to piss off someone there by being a thief. He gets to be around humanity as himself. He gets to be a person, to be himself.
Now for the city arc, a lot is implied by unrelenting storm, even more so about soul stealer relationship with them. Storm was told by soul stealer about his flaw, about his time with assterion, implied about a lot. And as for what's not said, the two had been jealous of eachother, soul stealer because storm could keep their mind mostly, storm because soul stealer could keep his anger. Theres also a little detail about the other mordret, he talks with storm, asking how to kill when you can't feel anything to drive his hand to swing. Little detail is that when storm is going to be killed at night, he steps in willingly to take out the attacker. It's also shown that mordret hates storm, and a lot too.
now after that arc after he becomes a sovereign he still stops around their citadels. He actually has his own tent in one. Fun fact he still has not given the stuff he stole, for fun too, back. Hes at this point a annoying little bastard for fun.
As for the Asterion arc... Just like mentally put the image of a evil advisor rubbing their hands together. That is me about what im going to write
I might do this but for the other romance option seishan. Although that one has some hc mixed in
