If you’ve attempted to add coins to your NicoNico Manga account in the past few days, you may have noticed the error Item unavailable in your country. Unfortunately, this means that NicoNico Manga has integrated region-locking, and no longer allows users to purchase coins from a foreign Google Play region. This may make it difficult for you to Fast Pass or send gifts to Senyuu.
If you have an Apple device, it is possible to get around this to continue to purchase coins even without a Japanese payment method or Japanese IP address. If you only have access to Android, it’s unfortunately more difficult 😔 You may want to rely on collecting free coins.

Collecting Free Coins
1. Click the hamburger menu icon to open the sidebar, and click on the orange チャージ button.
2. Click on the 0¥ button.
3. A TapJoy screen offering coins in exchange for downloading apps or watching ads should appear. (Note that this screen may not appear on an Android emulator - you may receive an error page saying “Unfortunately, there are no offers in your region.”)
Purchasing With an Android Device
While I haven’t validated this myself, you may be able to follow these steps to create a new Japanese Google Play account: notes.qoo-app.com/en/note/663286
Once you have a Japanese Google Play account, you should theoretically be able to top it up with funds with a Google Play gift card from Amazon Japan. However, unlike with Apple, creation of a Japanese Google Play account involves exploiting errors, so I cannot guarantee it will work as expected.
Purchasing With an Apple Device
1. Create a Japanese Apple account. Go to https://appleid.apple.com/account and make a new ID in the Japan Country/Region, and an email you aren’t using for any other Apple ID. Make sure you select “Use without payment method” when prompted, and you can use https://www.fakexy.com/fake-address-generator-jp for a valid Japanese address.
To note: If you have a Gmail account, you can place a + after your email to create a new “unique” email that will still be forwarded to your Gmail. For example, emails sent to [email protected] be received at [email protected].
2. Create a Japanese Amazon account and purchase a Japanese Apple Gift Card here, sending it to an email of your choice. Amazon Japan should accept most major foreign credit cards.
3. You should receive the Apple Gift Card within five minutes. It should display the gift card code under the text Apple ギフトカード番号:
4. Open the App Store on your Apple device. Click the blue profile picture icon in the top right corner to open your account information, then tap Redeem Gift Card or Code. Tap Enter Code, enter the gift card code, then tap Redeem in the top right corner. Your account should now have the money from the gift card.
5. Go through the steps here to purchase NicoNico Manga coins and get fast pass/bonus content!
(Note that due to the fact that coins are associated with your NicoNico account, if you go through this flow on any Apple device, you can then access your coins on any Android devices you have.)
