#cse627 Week 4 Reflection
This week our focus was animation and audio in our readings. My intention was to focus on audio and podcasting. I ended up doing more video and animation work with audio attached! My professional development challenge was to take larger chunks of information and learning and create smaller chunks and bite-size learning.
For the first make of the week, I used Wideo to create an information video using their template and my audio. It is targeted at early intervention administrators. I believe we will have to garner buy-in for using social media in our professional development. This could be used as a little “promo” video.
The second make pushed me a little further. I dove into GoAnimate to try my hand at animation. I also recorded the audio track. The result was a short video that could be used on our website/learning portal to remind learners about EI eligibility. I was very happy with the result.
I used Symballoo to create a landing page with website links related to home-based coaching. I think this could be used for a resource page. I also want to go back and create a larger one potentially for my organization.
The last thing I created this week was very exciting. I used Zaption to take a video with recorded audio and add in annotations and quiz questions. I could use this tool a LOT for a variety of professional development reasons. This video would be used as a short module in a course.
Earlier in the week, Mary Montgomery and I worked together to remediate something that had been remediated already. We went back to the song that was the original, added pictures to help portray a message about disability and we were very happy with the results.
For twitter, I posted for #silentsunday in #clmooc. I also participated in a chat for the eLearning Guild (#guildchat). It was different than CLMOOC, but it was interesting to watch all the ideas fly. I did not tweet much, but here are a few of my contributions.
My contributions to the group included some elearning resources and web tools for teachers. I also went back and forth a lot with classmates on twitter.
Overall, another good week and some great resources for me to use within my organization.
