Sudden Changes in Life

It’s something a lot of people, and I personally have, wished before. A magical transformation of my life.

I wished that when I woke up, I’d suddenly be famous, or be a student in the college of my dream, or suddenly lose weight, or something else.

What I ‘ve come to realize, after having some of these radical changes happen (of course they’re not sudden magic, but things like “one day you’re unemployed and next day you are” or “before summer you were fat but after summer you are fit”), the sudden changes that you desired so much surprisingly will not change that much about who you are, and thus will not change much how others perceive you. (although losing weight did have quite an affect in my romantic relationships, which makes me question the values of society once more before getting to the main question...)

But I thought about it, and there is definitely one thing that will change EVERYTHING. Money.

Who you are, who you become, who you were, who other people perceive you as, its going to be all different. Money is so much power, and at this point in society may be the ONLY absolute power. not law, not money, not fame, not virtue or love, not physical strength. Money.

... I need to think more about where this is going

Feelings of Hopelessness. It is hard to identify a single factor that leads to feeling hopeless, so hopeless that the person gives up (even if only temporarily) and stops trying to grow, achieve, and develop. Many clients feel as if they are getting nowhere, despite their continued efforts. It could be the hopelessness of poverty or financial disaster or of other socioeconomic loss. It could be the shattering of idealism in one’s work or relationships. It could be the frustration of blocked goals and aspirations in employment, career, or interpersonal relationships. It could be the devastation of physical health, disease, physical injury, or the loss of a loved one. It could be the hopelessness of not knowing how to read or other blocks in learning or achievement. It could be the continual shame and loss of pride from emotional, physical, or sexual violation. It could be a single or continued exposure to a traumatic event or great loss that leads to feelings of hopelessness. One or all of these can lead to hopelessness, which can lead to increased drug use, alcohol/drug problems, and addiction
