New song!
Recently we played at Kset with swedish band Summer Heart. After the concert all of us ended up in a friend's apartment, drinking and exchanging each other nation's customs. Croats are generally embarrassed by their own country and look up to sorted out countries like Sweden. But the Swedes told us they wouldn't mind less rules and less order. What do they know... Still, one thing they said stuck with us - how the Swedes are socially awkward and how they seldom make contacts with strangers. Having played with that thought in our heads, Zoran wrote this song Making Friends aiming for naive lyrics, reminiscent of the film "Juno" (for some reason), describing how introverted and shy people (that is, "socially awkward people") make friends. Fun facts: If you ever want to play this song, have in mind that it is tuned DADF#BE, otherwise, you'll have a hard time playing it. The songs sounds "twee as fuck" and it seems to us that we finally figured out why most of people compare us to Belle and Sebastian. We definitely need to start listening to that band. Lora has a solo on melodica. If you turn the volume up, you will hear birds singing in the beginning of the song. They are actual birds from our garden accidentally recorded while recording the guitar. Photos on youtube video are by Ksenija Mikor, a great photographer from Slovenia. Making Friends lyrics I'd like to sit right next to you in a crowded dining hall Feeling nervous and sweaty hands, I look down on the floor Shyness is the sweetest fruit that I'm picking up right now I'd like to sit right next to you in a crowded dining hall I do, I really do, but I'm scared of you I do, I really do, so what about you? I'd like to talk about some stuff that you and I just like so much Maybe you're a music lover, maybe you play some guitar Maybe you love literature, maybe you take photographs I'd like to talk about some stuff that you and i just like so much I do, I really do, but I'm scared of you I do, I really do, so what about you?
Today we played at Aquarius music shop as today is world's Record Store Day! It was quite fun and it was a great feeling playing among LPs & CDs in broad daylight :))
Politically correct and not so much
Mi smo mini zemlja i neminovno smo mimo svih događanja. Čak i njihova baba zna šta time dobijaju. U subotu 21.4. svratite u Aquarius music shop u Varšavskoj gdje sviramo povodom Record Store Day-a točno u 12:30 (veselimo se toj jutarnjoj šihti!), a zatim smo u Šibeniku 28.4. s još nekim bendovima. Nadamo se da se kako na navedenim lokacijama vidimo i u Ksetu 19.4. gdje ćete demantirati našu lajnu da ‘no one cares for music’. See ya! THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON Jeste li već čuli za Summer Heart s kojim ćete dijeliti stage u četvrtak? Možda to smatraš neplodnim tlom? Kakva promocija albuma? Nije da mi promoviramo album nego on nas. Htjeli smo svirati i prije, ali nas nitko nije fermao, sad kad imamo album i izdavača, sad možemo čak složit i turneju. Promocija albuma teče dobro, u skladu s trendovima u vukojebini. Disclaimer: Vukojebina (TM) korištena bez dopuštenja stanovitog Dubravka Ivaniša. Nama ionako nije samo Hrvatska vukojebina, nego cijeli planet.
22.3.2012. - Szeged
Yesterday we left our room and headed for the first venue on our tour list - Rongy Kocsma in Szeged, Hungary. We heard some horrible stories about Hungarian border and how they deal with those with ATA carnet, but we must dismiss any such stories and say that it all went very smoothly and quite pleasant. The drive alongside wide empty fields and newly planted groupations of trees presented to us a weird and uncommon beauty. Since the spring hasn't come yet in its full sense, the sun shone on brown ground and leafless trees making their shadows reflect golden tones producing a calm and serene scenery. We didn't have any idea what to expect in Szeged, and, same as when entering most of the cities, what welcomed us on its outskirts was somewhat unattractive. Worn down buildings and industrial establishments. But as we neared the center, various cathedrals sprung out and you could immediately say that Szeged was once an important, both cultural and political site. It made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside and then we headed to the venue for a soundcheck. Rongy Kocsma used to be a fabric factory and it was a new pleasant surprise. It opened just recently and it seemed everybody was putting high hopes into the place. This was told to us by Zsolt, our host and promotor, born in Subotica, a very dear guy who attended to our every need with diligence and care. Thank you for that, Zsolt! The gig itself went fine, with an audience in a very good mood, making us feel really welcomed. It was a great pleasure to play in such ambiance, we couldn't have asked for a better one to represent our album 'From Our Room To Yours'. We chatted with locals afterwards, met a girl from Zagreb (!), said our thank yous and headed to Zsolt's for a night's rest. Photos will be added later.

!! VIDEO FOR AK 47 !!
If you knew in advance that you would spend much more time than planned on doing something, would you still do it? Well, when in the end you enjoy the result as much as we have, then you can’t argue with the fact that the effort did pay out and that all that passed time was just a small price to pay.. We started shooting the video for AK 47 sometime in October, honestly thinking we would have it by November 25 as announcement for the big promotion party following the release of our album “From Our Room To Yours”. Then some complications with locations happened (permits, permits, permits). Then there was a lot of really bad weather. Then there were headaches and extra work. But in the end, there were enthusiastic people who made this video come to life as it is. Who did it all in their spare time, stealing away the time from their families to bring life and colorfulness into otherwise gray and dim footage. Neven Zubak had a vision and we followed him without a word. With a help from his brother Goran, they diligently converted this video, frame by frame, into a fairy dream land which with its mood and surrealistic colours perfectly describes the song’s atmosphere. Yet another broken heart love story? It might be, but we tell it like we see it, and there is nothing dignified in suffering, in feeling constantly betrayed and heartbroken. You may know it is not healthy and you should stop feeling like that, but if it were only that easy. If only there was a switch you could turn on and off, if only there was a metaphorical trigger you could pull, if only the pain could be ripped out and you could stop being a zombie. The locations Neven picked couldn’t have been chosen better - splendid buildings and spaces with their vast strength and coldness can perfectly describe relationship between two people. You can admire them, you can respect them, you can be intimidated by them, you can feel small and insignificant, you can feel lost, found or totally indifferent. What you feel about something/someone comes out of you and out of your perception of the observed object. These visions can sometimes found a mutual ground. Sometimes, they are just an illusion. Illusion of reality. Illustration of possible parallel reality. That is what we felt while shooting on the location of never finished hospital which should have brought so much to the community. To the people. All the money invested in someone’s idea of prosperity, of making people’s lives better is decaying more and more by each minute, even now as I type these letters and the thought of it is making us very sad. It seems that ‘others’ are always making some decisions that influence us, but if we raise our voice it only echoes back to us having nowhere to settle on the other side. (For those not familiar with the story - there is a huuuge hospital building whose built started probably some 20-25 (?) years ago. It never got finished although many governments have always raised that issue during the election times. So much money has been spent on it, and now it just sits there, rotting…). This song could easily be about that. About injustice and about illusion of happiness which we await but which never comes. And we cannot take it anymore and we wish that there is someone who could just stop this agony and stop our misery. When we realize that the medicine is us - each of us is the one who can help us, maybe than we will be able to laugh at this song. I hope one day we will. Please watch and share this video, if you like it.

From press release:
Kimiko's new AK47 video on MTV! Always innovative and modern, Kimiko have made such a big surprise even for us at Geenger Records label! Electro-pop with HD quality is really a refreshment on the scene; Zoran and Lora know how to present their audio-visual message to the audience. Neven Zubak & BoozooArt helped with the visual construction of the love disorientation and rupture that AK47 is about. Locations which they found are perfect for the song's atmosphere, and the band members had a chance to look through the surrealistic world in colours just like the aliens.
