On twitter I’m seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.

On tumblr I’m seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.

Be careful who you get your information from. Don’t let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.

obviously these two know each other through work.  it’s just a matter of deciding how and what their vibe is.  in a general meshing together of their two canons,  i don’t think they would be working together unless their two practices teamed up on a case   (  which could be fun!  )   so that leaves us with  [1] they see each other around the courthouse and slowburn a friendship or distaste or  [2] they met through representing opposite sides in a case and the rivalry lingered.  but!!  i don’t want to discount the idea of going more au on geoff’s side to pull him in the breaking bad universe / better call saul timeline.  they could have attended unm school of law together!  i don’t think he’d want to work at hamlin hamlin mcgill,  but i love the idea of them in classes together.  and then,  off of that,  i am not sure if you’ve watched bcs or not,  but i have an au based around kim’s idea of starting a legal practice inspired by her desire to take on public defender cases where she defends those who typically can’t afford the same legal teams as the rich and well-connected at a lower cost.  when she talks about it on the show,  she specifically wants to go back and hire the people in her past that are similarly brilliant and see the injustice and nepotism in the legal world sooooo....   geoff would absolutely be someone she’d want on board.....

so obviously they can meet each other through the legal world,  but i’m really curious how you’ve meshed together bonnie and saul in your plotting with oz because i am 1000% down to just bandwagon onto that.  but also because i think these two would get to know each other through the legal world obviously,  but we can either play that as bonnie passing the bar in new mexico or kim and bonnie’s separate firms team up/they are hired as outside counsel on a case that crosses state lines so brings together a new mexico team and a new york team.   (  i think htgawm is new york anyway,  lol.  )   i do think they’d get along,  even though kim wouldn’t really pursue anything outside of work with bonnie,  at least at first.

i still really love our idea of kim helping fiona out unofficially while she’s a law student,  using her legal smarts to get her out of some trouble without actually being a lawyer yet.  and then they can reunite if she ever finds herself in albuquerque!  tbh there are few people that kim feels 'connected’ with in life,  but i think there’s a chance that fiona could become one of those people because of how chaotic her own family is.  kim grew up being the ‘grown-up’ in her family with an alcoholic mother in denial about her alcoholism and a family of scumbags who were willing to take advantage of her dying grandma.  she has a chip on her shoulder about coming from working class and turning her life around so she doesn’t really see eye-to-eye with the ‘richie rich’s she works with.  i think fiona and her would click in a way kim just doesn’t with a lot of other people!  especially since kim would semi-already know about fiona’s life from helping her out of whatever previous trouble.
