I’m not sure what the birth dates/star signs of the characters on California Dreams were, but if you look at the starsigns of the actors who played them, I think there’s a connection. Whether this was intentional (the writers writing specifically for the actors) or if it’s just a coincidence, I don’t know. Either way, I think Jake could easily be a stubborn Taurus, Tiffany could be an idealistic Aquarius, and Sly; a manipulative Gemini! This little tumblr is dedicated to the lovable characters of California Dreams and gives an insight into their personalities/compatibility based upon the star signs of the actors who played them. MARK WINKLE: CANCER (PART I)

. HE IS EMOTIONAL AND NUTURING... As a Cancer, he is often misrepresented. Sure he's touchy, moody and overly sensitive but he is also a nuturer and probably the most caring of all the zodiac. He is very emotional; emotions guide his life and this can be a good thing but it also causes him trouble. His emotions overflow from him and on to people he's close to. Above all he strives for happiness and security. HE IS A PERFECTIONIST... He is so passionate about things in his life, he wants everything to be perfect. This means he puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on himself. He'd do good to remember nothing in life is perfect and accidents happen. He worries too much and he might never stop worrying. This is because he cares so much and needs security. To understand how difficult it is for him to open up to others, reveal his true feelings, and 'come out of his shell', try to imagine a crab (the representative of Cancer) shedding its shell and exposing the delicate form underneath. He's just so afraid of getting hurt! HE IS PROTECTIVE... LORENA COSTA: LIBRA (PART I)

. SHE LIVES IN HER OWN WORLD... She is happy go lucky, a social butterfly, a diplomat and indecisive. It's almost as if she floats through life and her popularity, glamor and generally kind, helpful and loving attitude brings luck and leads her on her path through life. She does not like making decisions; she wants a little of everything! She wants everyone to be happy, never argue or have problems, and live happily ever after. Yes, she loves to wear rose-tinted glasses (especially if they're designer!) Sadly, the real world is rarely what she would like it to be. She is full of kindness, gentleness and is a peaceful being; people love her for those reasons. SHE IS SOCIAL... She needs a steady partner, either a boyfriend or a close friend (like Sam), that she can spend every waking second with. She wants to form close relationships of sharing and trust, and wants someone to share her emotions with. She will do everything to balance the relationship and make it work; she'll see it as a sort of 'project'. Unfortunately, she becomes so attached that she will stay in an unhealthy relationship and try to make it work. Problems sometimes arise because she is a natural charmer and a natural flirt. TONY WICKS: LEO (PART I)

. HE IS GENUINE Leo is a star! Everyone knows it and he needs to be the center of attention. He lives his life as if there is a red carpet rolling out under his feet everywhere he goes. He is not completely vain; he is warm, loving and generous. He wants other people to be happy like he's happy. He doesn't lack self confidence and so other people surpassing him doesn't bother him at all; he knows that he is the best. He's not jealous of other people's achievement or success. He is very genuine and that is a admirable trait. HE IS SELF-CENTERED... Strange as it might seem, he is both generous and selfish at the same time. But not selfish in a negative way; he just looks out for himself first. He makes sure that his needs are met before anything else. No big deal, he deserves it, right? He just needs to make sure he never loses the generous nature that is ingrained in him. That is his key to happiness; being generous makes other people love him. HE NEEDS TO BE IN CONTROL... Sometimes his generosity might spill over to the point of being controlling. He knows what is best for himself so he assumes he knows what is best for other people. This is also true with his exceptional organizational skills. He might be right, but there is not a lot of people that will welcome someone else dictating their life. He needs to be able to read the signals of others and know when he should probably back off. HE NEEDS TO BE ADMIRED AND RESPECTED... He is a great friend because he is so generous, genuine and very devoted. As long as his friends show him adoration, he will pamper them in return. He will take them all to the top and show them the time of their lives. Everyone remember how much fun they had with their Leo friend! He is very popular and the main reason is because he has the most sunny disposition and lives his life to the fullest. People admire him and look up to him, wishing they had his zest for life. SAM WOO: VIRGO (PART I)

. SHE WANTS TO BE HELPFUL... She is analytical, neat, and possess a very active mind. She has a reputation for being a critic; this is thanks to her keen sense of observation and her quick ability to point out differences in other people. Other people might think she is being really picky, whic she is but she also has an underlying desire to help others. By mentioning another person's faults, she is only trying to make them aware of how they could better themselves - but they are rarely thankful for this! After she has mastered and perfected a skill, she wants to share it with everyone else (remember how eager she was to audition for The 'Dreams?) She wants to help others and show them the right way to do things; many people therefore see her as bossy. She thinks she's being selfless, but other think she's either showing off or criticizing them. This is the root cause of Virgo's reputation for being overly critical. It's not her fault she's quick-witted, clever, highly observant with an oddly dry sense of humor, and quite an interesting person! SHE IS EMOTIONALLY DETACHED... The most probable reason for Virgo's undeserved reputation is because she's not very emotional. She is actually quite emotionally cold and detached because she thinks rather than feels. She believes that feelings cloud her mind and so hold her back from properly solving problems, which is very true. She is able to get things done better and easier than highly emotional signs such as Cancer (we are looking at you Mark Winkle!). SHE IS ANALYTICAL... She is very neat and organized, she wants to learn how things work; pick apart the pieces and try to put it back together again to work more efficiently and make it better. She is always on the quest to improve and perfect everything in the world around her. She is not lazy, but anything to make the work easier is her speciality - why work more then you have to; it's just a waste of energy and time! Patience is a virtue and she has plenty of that. SLY WINKLE: GEMINI (PART I)

. HE HAS AN ACTIVE MIND... His mind is always buzzing with ideas and thoughts, and he wants to be in the know and a part of everyone's conversation. He tends to verbalize his thoughts and this often gets him into trouble with some people. Others might think that what he says is what he mean but that is not the case; he is changeable in his opinions and contrary. Some people might not see eye to eye with the way his mind works! HE IS VERBAL AND INTELLECTUAL... He unfortunately has a reputation for being a liar but he is only saying what comes to mind, it does not mean it is written in stone! This causes others to see him as unreliable. They don't understand the churning of ideas and comparisons of theories and all that kind of thinking activity in his mind, but this is what makes him so special; his amazing ability to dissect something and create something new. On the other hand, his spunk and clever wittiness draws certain types of people to him, and these people look up to him and admire his wacky sense of humor and interesting views. HE IS OPTIMISTIC... He makes a great friend; he is always interesting to listen to, great to carry on a never ending debate with and he always has something on the go. His vitality and sunny disposition overtakes the mood swings he may have and even though times get tough, he still sees the light at the end of the tunnel. He wants to know what makes people tick and he wants to experience new things. He gets bored easily and needs constant stimulation, this could either be a good thing or a bad thing. If his job requires repetitious work, he easily gets distracted and loses interest. If his job requires him to be on the move gathering information, for example as a journalist or researcher, he is happy and performs very well. HE IS INDECISIVE... Gemini is the sign of duality, therefore he has two personalities inside him that are sometimes in conflicts and sometimes harmonious. . SHE IS INDEPENDANT... Just as long as there is no one trying to control or dictate her, everything is good to go. She can persuade people to see her viewpoint because she has the ability to justify her reasons and actions. She can do a good lot of good in the world if she stands up for what she believes in - especially against injustice. She hates to see other people taken advantage of others and acts of unfairness. SHE IS SMART... She loves learning and has a big thirst for knowledge. She likes to stay informed, and loves informing other people. People trust what she says for she only speaks the truth. She sometimes inflates her own importance and 'toots her own horn' (she is a qualified candy striper, you know, AND a pretty awesome surfer), and other people might think she is stuck up or bossy, but she believes in herself and is not overly concerned with what other people think about her. SHE NEEDS TO BE NEEDED... Deep inside she does want other people's approval and will work hard so that other people like her. She sometimes has internal struggles between wanting to be different and wanting to have other people accept her. She has underlying insecurity issues (her mother abandoning her didn't help with this), but she never lets this be known. In fact, she doesn't let it bother her because she knows she's unique and would rather be an individual than conform to a group. SHE IS VERBAL AND INTELLECTUAL... She says what she means and is very observant; mix this with her emotional coolness and she can easily offend other. This is not intentional though! She just needs to watch what she says around more sensitive types. She loves a lively debate and likes to see other people's point of view. For her, life is a study of people. She wants to know what makes others tick. What they think. She tries to delve into the mind of others and can easily become lost in conversation. In all relationships, including romantic ones, she is happiest when there is a meeting of minds. She needs to be compatible mentally with the person, it is so important that it is above everything else. SHE IS EMOTIONALLY DETACHED... In a romantic relationship, she needs her space. She fears losing her independence in a relationship so if she feels suffocated, she backs off. If she and her boyfriend are connected mentally, she is a loyal partner. She needs to make sure she chooses someone who is not possessive or jealous because of her need of alone-time; life is too short and too interesting to be tied down by someone clingy. JAKE SOMMERS: TAURUS (PART I)

. HE IS CARING... Jake is known for his dependability, loyalty, and his caring and nuturing nature. He is the most loyal friend and is always there when someone has a problem or needs a shoulder to cry on. He is very responsive and hates to see someone upset; if something unjust has happened to a close friend (or him for that matter), he will fight to make it right - anything to restore the peace. HE IS STABLE AND HEADSTRONG... The bull is the perfect animal to represent Jake; happily staying in his field, protecting it, being a gentle creature minding it's own business, not out to harm anyone but if someone should try to invade his property or cross him, his temper will flare and he will charge relentlessly to protect what is his and he will never give up - the calm bull will turn into a fierce fighter. He has a temper which sometimes can get out of control; once he's fired up it's hard to calm him down again. This could be a good thing because it shows perseverance but it can also lead to problems because he can be blind when his temper is flairing and he can say the wrong things and end up causing more problems. HE IS POSSESSIVE... He is extremely possessive of his surrounding and possessions. His possessions are like little extensions of himself and if someone treats them with disrespect (like, say, taking his motorcycle for a joyride, Sly!), it's like treating him with disrespect. Conflicts can arise with those 'airy' zodiac signs that do not understand his need for security through his possessions but we are all different and they will never understand. HE THRIVES ON ROUTINE AND STABILITY... He tends to live life looking through rose-colored glasses. He wants everything to be in its place, perfect, settled. He doesn't want anything to ever change or go away (like Jenny did). If something gets moved or changes, he is unsettled. ((Jake, you have to learn to chill out! Just because something changes does not mean your world will is falling about! You are a strong bull, remember? You can do anything!)) It is ingrained in his nature to fear the unknown. It is not really due to a lack of self confidence, but it is due to a strong need for security. This steadfastness can be his downfall; like he'd rather stay in an unhealthy relationship (with Lorena) or a crappy job that makes him miserable then leave because at least the relationship/job is familiar. He needs day-to-day standard routine to be happy. In this world, that is not always possible so he freaks out quite often when things change. He will never change but if he is aware of this tendency, it will be easier for him to understand why he does the things he does, and that might take a bit of the stress out of his life. HE LOVES THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE... He loves to surround himself with tasteful and elegant things (like a classic leather jacket, or a well-made guitar). He enjoys his creature comforts and this includes food. He loves a delicious meal and presentation is everything. He mind even enjoy food too much; this is a Taurean downfall because they have a tendency to gain weight easily. HE IS AFFECTIONATE... He is highly physical; he loves to hug and be touched. He is very affectionate when he's in love and his love is lavished on his partner. He needs it to remain tasteful however; he is not one for making out in front of a crowd of people - he is too respectable for that. HE IS STUBBORN... He is very stubborn. He will not give up or change his opinion, sometimes if the facts are present that he is wrong, he will keep his position just to have his way. If he could just be a little more open minded to change his life would flow a lot more smoothly! Deep inside he doesn't really want a smooth-flowing life because the he wouldn't have anything to stir him up! He might tell you that stress is his fuel; he is always trying to improve or protect something or someone. This is okay; it is what make him so special. WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

. I'm not sure what the birth dates/star signs of the characters on California Dreams were, but if you look at the starsigns of the actors who played them, I think there's a connection. Whether this was intentional (the writers writing specifically for the actors) or if it's just a coincidence, I don't know. Either way, I think Jake could easily be a stubborn Taurus, Tiffany could be an idealistic Aquarius, and Sly; a manipulative Gemini! This little tumblr is dedicated to the lovable characters of California Dreams and gives an insight into their personalities/compatibility based upon the star signs of the actors who played them. So basically; its all just a bit of silly fun.
