@epigrvm:
   ă â» ă   THEREâS A BRIEF moment of silence and a slow craning of his neck to turn his head towards the older maleâs features. The way his brow lifts, eyes narrow and lips slightly apart shows clear evidence of skepticism. Did he seriously just say heâs as intimidating as a butterfly ? Not to be mistaken, some breeds of butterflies were quite scary and quite cunning too with the designs of their wings and whatnot. But in most cases they were very soft, pretty little things to look at either nestled on the petal of a flower or flapping itâs wings as it flutters through the airâfighting invisible air currents. A hand lifts up from settling on his own lap, placing it on the older maleâs shoulder. Thereâs a small squeeze as the pads of digits lightly dig into the fabric of the finely knit cotton. â  Hyung, letâs be honest here,  â he starts, chocolate hues looking forward at nothing in particular.
â Â You are a buff guy with sleeves. Immediately people are going to find you intimidating with those two things alone. Which kind of sucks since in most cases would deter people and I know youâre pretty warm and soft, like a nice fluffy pillow freshly out of the dryer. Â â
He blinks in what appears to be confusion, but upon registering the connotation of his remark, an amused smile illumines his countenance. Laughter escapes him, genuine and spirited. âWarm ânâ soft, huh? Should I take that as a compliment?â He takes this as initiative to reach out, sifting through the opposing set of dark locks with a sheepish grin. Perhaps âbutterflyâ wasnât the right term to use. âA grizzly bear, then. Big, fluffy, and generally harmless--- just misunderstood. Oh, and, uh... cranky when weâre hungry.âÂ
His laughter subsides into a low chuckle, and with his bulky arms returning to his sides, Woohyukâs smile merely widens. After all, it was flattering to hear he provided a sense of quaint comfort, even if offering praise hadnât been in his intentions. âI reckon that this means youâre happy to see me again? Though, I donât think Iâm ready to become your pillow just yet. This grizzly bear needs some food in him, first.â

âyou mean where i work? i donât see enough of them actually,â she bites back and stops in front of the hammer. her tone softens in mock apology as she bends down to pick it up, "ah oppa, donât be like this⊠hear me out first?â
she daintily slides her phone into her jean pocket before swinging the hammer into the windshield with all her might. he can listen to that instead.
Ouch. Here he thought he would be receiving gratitude for saving the woman from predatory felons, but apparently she got off to the idea of being impaled by an old freak in his fifties behind a craigslist account. He wasnât one to judge others for living out their kinks, but come on. That was just degrading, even for her standards. Obviously, he had underestimated her ability to sniff out danger from the cracks.
âMaybe I should call up a shrink---â The sudden alteration in her tone, however, ignited an interrogative look. Was she apologizing? Perhaps she just had a rough day, after all. Then he heard broken glass from the other line, but it took some time for him to process the situation at hand.
Why could he hear glass hitting pavement from the other side of the door? It was almost as if...
âNo, she didnât...â Laughter. He was laughing--- assuming it had to be some kind of joke. Bravo, Inhye. You got me good. That was what he wanted to say, but when he twisted the doorknob in desperation, he was introduced to his dearest Audi R8--- in shambles. Scratched paint and demolished windshield. Realizing the vehicle was still salvageable, he lunged at her considerably smaller figure. Gaunt fingers coiled themselves around the weapon of choice, and with gravity on his side, it did not take long for him to swivel whilst the other arm pinned her shoulder to the door. He tore the tool from her grip and tossed it to the floor.Â
âLee Inhye,â he exhales sharply, âI knew you were fucking insane, but if you want to die this badly, Iâll kill you right now.âÂ
@illustrain
He knew what it was like to be without a home--- to go hungry, to go sick. He would force himself to sleep beneath a pile of newspapers under the tunnels, seeking warmth from pressed ink that just ended up tainting his cheeks in the morning. Inked quotes all over his skin translated to relentless abuse from the government and a society of status. He neglected foreign terms such as hope, altruism, light--- insert all of your feel-good terms here.
At one low point, he found himself scavenging for leftover meat stuck to the grills from outdoor barbecues and restaurants. And the world was cruel, kid--- more than it had ever been. It was a dog-eat-dog world, and they shunned him for being the stray. Yet he could not deny his hunger, because an empty stomach meant an empty soul, and the old man always told him to eat, pray, and love. So, he ate. He ate, because his old man up in heaven told him to. He prayed to God for his meals, and he loved by sharing with those around him. And since he obeyed, his old man rewarded him for it. He brought him the kind elder who offered him a job at the local auto shop after realizing the stray was skilled with his hands, having assisted him with his car that early morning at the same tunnel. Perhaps the elder was his father in disguise; he was fully convinced that it was. Eventually, the elder parted to retirement and the stray inherited the business.Â
Ten years later, that stray was driving the highways in his Audi R8, pushing up the amplifier until his ears physically ached.
Eat, pray, and love. It was a virtue he held dear to his heart, so it hurt when he saw a boy digging through a basket of expired snacks at the convenience store. It hurt more knowing he wasnât jumping to conclusions, because he saw the boy everyday. In the end, he always saw him leave those doors with a cup of ramen and a bottle of water. It was enough to prompt him to pay it forward, convincing the cashier to stock the basket with a variety of boxed lunches veiled as their weekly special, going for fifty cents per box. Woohyuk paid for that weekâs worth and merely watched before returning to the shop.
@novocana:
[ to: woohyuk ] think i should go for plastic surgery then? get a more defined cheekbone? i heard thatâs popular in the u.s. perhaps add fillers in my chin so it protrudes more? ah maybe i should just change to look like you, oppa. thatâs your idea of beauty right? or i could change to look like your audi too. carve four rings into my forehead just for you. gouge my eyes out and shove two led lights into my sockets. would i be prettier then, oppa?
[SMS --- ìŽìží]
Wait, are you telling me youâve never gotten plastic surgery before?
ă·ă·ă·.... Sorry, kitten, but nothing beats my Audi.Â
But hey, donât worry about it. Being ugly has its perks.Â
For instance, itâll be convenient at night clubs. Youâll have all the space on the dance floor to yourself. No one will want to get within five feet of you.
"ARE YOU GOING TO FUCKING KILL ME YOURSELF?" she screams over the phone.
âOh, come on, woman. Youâre twenty-six years old. I thought you were better than this.â Woohyuk had expected some opposition, but he should have known better than to receive any ounce of mercy from the other end. Head tipped back, he watched the helix of smoke waft into thin air. Stubbing out his cigarette shortly before tossing it into a nearby bin, the man reclined against the blank canvas of a wall behind him. Cigars helped when the crushing weight of a crowded city threatened to spark his short, gasoline-soaked fuse⊠but it certainly wasnât enough to endure her screams over the line, much less in person.
âNo, âcause yâknow, murder is a serious offense. Have yaâ seen what happens to killers? They go to jail, Inhye. You see, our society runs on two things: law and order.âÂ
Cue in the eye-rollâ his eyes go so far back that it makes his head spin, instead. Too much, Woohyuk. Too much.Â
âIâm hanging up, youâre annoying.â
You dismantle me, you dismantle me
