He wrote a popular book series: A Plot of Wishes and Words, which is like the basic plot of the movie Wish, but more mature (Game of Thrones, but less violent--adult fantasy vibes.) It is very popular and one of the first fantasy books that based its magic system on real world magic, which is how he made his stand out as a debut author. AMITY:  Amity’s heart roared with nerves yet her chest still felt hollow like each beat was the echo of the real thing without her second heart alongside it. For a long time now, she’d gotten used to the strange emptiness. She had even enjoyed it. She was calmer and more focused. It hadn’t hurt to think about the Boiling Isles, her parents, her siblings, or her loneliness. 

But she wasn’t alone. She had the Magnifiques and they had a mission. She just had to suppress her nerves a little longer, long enough to lure Magnifico into their trap. And if the spell worked…

It had to work. Or else Swynlake would cease to be Swynlake and Amity would lose the first place that had actually accepted her. The closest thing she had to a home. 

“They told me to meet them in the observatory,” she told Magnifico. They walked up the winding stone staircase. “Did you want me to go in first?”

NAME: King Magnifico of Rosas

HOMETOWN: la Ciudad de Rosas OCCUPATION: King of Rosas

BIOGRAPHY: Ever since he was young, Magnifico--just a prince, then--knew that his destiny was to rule Rosas. He spent his childhood daydreaming what it would be like to rule one day. Though, he was happy to take his time. After all, becoming king would mean his beloved father would have to die.

And that day came far sooner that Magnifico had anticipated.

When he was still young, invaders came to try and overtake Rosas. His parents were killed in the siege on the city.

In the wake of their deaths, after their enemies had been defeated, Magnifico vowed to never let something like that happen again. He trained as a Price Specialty, so that he could grant the wishes of his people and make them strong. He loved his country and his people--even married one, Queen Amaya, a simple girl from the Stargazing Plains.

But, after a few years, he realized that it was a dangerous thing, allowing people to wish what they liked. The wish ceremonies became more and more selective. These days, hardly anyone gets their wishes granted at all.

And now, with his apprentice on the run, defying him--King Magnifico must raise up new apprentices. He has selected five of Rosas' brightest for the competition. Whomever wins will become heir apparent. It might be a little while before he makes a decision, considering Asha's pesky, puny rebel forces have been causing headaches...
