I MEAN VANITAS

before any kairi fans get at me i very much like kairi, it's just that i hate how she's treated by the narrative, which ultimately stunts her character growth and perceived depth (not that she doesn't have any, just that it's not elaborated on enough for someone who's supposed to be one of the main freaking characters) and i know that ppl are tired of hearing kairi slander but i don't think being contrary about it and saying that it's actually fine is going to do anything about the...misogyny of it all because let's face it, the female characters in this franchise as a whole are not treated that well and kairi is maybe the prime example of it. (and please don't put me in the same bag as cishet men saying she has no personality because that's not at all what i think)

there's more to those thoughts but i went off topic hard there

this one was full of me going full parent mode. Despite everything I love that Aqua is the de facto main protag of the wayfinder trio. Also, the BBS's dearly beloved is my favorite. DW I did eventually see Blank Points, though it took me a while to find out it's a thing. It was beautiful, def one of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise.

their faces were so similar i was convinced they reused the model

i actually reached the image limit so i will continue BBS in another post, I didn't expect THIS game to be the first one but i feel like it's a sign for the times to come....

ummm actually??? yellow eyes are darkness? ok i didn't know by then still, interesting his eyes are orange like Ansem/DiZ instead also, i knew who master xehanort is thru osmosis

i was cooking some bullshit (i was aware of the kh3 sora breakdown scene)

i saw some ppl say Xion was being a b**** in this scene and i am so serious she's perfect, that's not what this scene was, and they can't handle female characters with ANY sort of dimension if that's their opinion. It is just so juicy that she defended herself WITH OFFENCE because that's what the org members do!! but the moment she saw Riku's genuine reaction, and understood that he has no beef with her personally she softened, and put her walls down. It's still fucked up what riku's role in this whole thing is, and that he still went on with it even though he saw the humanity in them that DiZ was denying while manipulating him. I really love them both. In the end they both just have people dear to them that they want to protect. Riku has already decided self-sacrifice is the way to go, and ultimately "helps" Xion arrive at the same answer. They both have so little self-worth :(

this is a terrible place to end the reactions but after this it's just screenshots without any commentary. That being said, the boss fight track, Vector To The Heavens is insane and my favorite track (not surprising) i learned to play part of Xion's theme on kalimba. Xion is my favorite of the days trio and my 2nd favorite kh character between riku and aqua, despite her short screentime and kind of a bullshit insertion into the story. I really love tragic, self-sacrificial characters. It might be bias but for me, Xion's story resonated with the identity theme more than Roxas, and not just because she radiated trans allegory potential jsdhjsd I also really like her relationship with Axel, it's underrated. That time he fought her to bring her back, and she said not to hold back? Chills. Some of you might be happy that I at least watched a compilation of the movie cutscenes AND the original game's so I didn't miss out on the fleshed out characterisations.

I love Sora's relationship with Ping, and I do mean Ping because first he's "easily fooled" by Mulan's masc presentation. (can you blame him though? A bunch of FF and KH characters are so gender) and second, because he's just so supportive and excited to help Ping with like, masculine presentation and stuff, like he's trully giving transmasc ally in there, inviting Ping to boyhood, it's so cute dshjdhgj
