He was hyper aware of their current isolation, his senses heightened due to being in an environment that he wasnât very used to yet. He was alone with the King, and the implications of that were not lost on him. While he sometimes wondered what the Supreme King saw in him to let him in this way, he didnât want to look a gift horse in the mouth.
âThe skies looked clear today. No air invasions. However I did spot a new rebel camp just north of the mountainside. YouâYour Highness should have somebody investigate further.â He hoped the accidental slip of the tongue would go unnoticed, and if not, he hoped Haou wouldnât be too angered by it. He kept his head lowered, waiting for permission to act otherwise, even as he felt the Kingâs leg rested against him. No armor, he noted.
Seemingly just to prove his internal point, the scout had given him more interesting information. The only thing up in the monuments were weaker monsters who couldnât aid him in his conquest, though they were as welcoming as any small village of frightful beasts could be. âThe rebels must be trying to regain their numbers...â It was rare for him to smile, but the reasons were common.
The slip up was noted but he didnât comment on it for now. Fingers reached out, combing through the birdmanâs hair affectionately. It was good news and that spelled a good time for his consort.
âGood. We can begin.â
