Birthday Surprise || Jenny & Thomas
Jenny nodded once, trying to act as confident as she’d felt only moments ago. “Good.” She didn’t say what she was thinking, which was a rant akin to things like; it didn’t suck did it? Partly because she didn’t want to know, but mostly because the whole point of all of this was to make him look at her differently, like the adult she actually was now.
When he asked her in, she nodded. “Yes please.” Stepping around him, she took a steadying breath. She could do this, she’d been in his office so many of times, she could probably navigate it with her eyes closed. Before she could turn to face him again, she caught sight of her old snow globe on his desk, and suddenly her nerve was back.
“Did you know it’s my birthday? I’m finally eighteen today, and all I really wanted, was to gather enough courage to kiss you; guess I got my wish, huh? Anyway, I know I’m not the first, student that is, and who knows, I may not be the last, but I just had to do it, you know?” Letting out a soft sigh, she stepped closer to O’Malley, no longer trying to be alluring, or anything other than herself. “I didn’t just ruin a good thing here, did I? I mean I can live with being rejected, I’ve been doing it for years, but you’re a good friend, Thomas, and I don’t want to lose that. Don’t go kissing me because you feel bad for me though, because being pitied is even worse than being rejected, but I wouldn’t mind doing it again..”
Shutting the door behind her, O’Malley turned to face the girl with a wide grin and eyes shining with mischief. Now that they were alone and no prying eyes could see them, O’Malley was feeling far more comfortable with what had just happened between them. Now they could explore just what it meant without having to worry about being caught. In fact...
Turning his attention back to the door for a short moment, O’Malley quickly locked it to ensure they would have all the privacy they wanted. As Jenny began talking, he turned his attention to her so he could listen closely. Her very first statement explained the outfit, which he took a moment to appreciate again with a lingering glace up and down her body.
Then he frowned at the mention of his kissing other students. This was not something he needed his students talking about much less thinking about. Sure he hadn’t been entirely too secretive about it, especially not at that one party. But he was trying to be professional for once in his life and couldn’t have rumors of his playboy ways floating around the school. However as she kept talking and talking, O’Malley was pulled out of his thoughts and instead focused on the girl in front of him.
“Woah slow down a minute, darling. You didn’t ruin anything here. I wouldn’t suggest making a habit of kissing teachers almost twice your age. But I don’t pity you and I would never kiss you just to make you feel better. I don’t make a habit of pacifying women with my kisses. I may seem a little... indiscriminate about who I kiss but I would never lead someone on. Unless you feel I led you on in which case I’m sorry.”
Realizing the implication of what he said, O’Malley shook his head softly before grinning and bringing a hand up to her cheek. “Now...I’d hate for you to see me as anything other than a gentleman but...” As his voice drifted off, he leaned into the young girl and brought their lips together again. Kissing her soft and sweetly, O’Malley hoped it wouldn’t stay so innocent but he wouldn’t be the one to push the issue.
