hestiajone:
“I’m not surprised at all,” says Hestia, giving Kingsley a smile. “You’d make a stellar minister, I’m sure.” Kingsley being minister in the future is hardly the strangest thing she has learned, and if she thinks about it, it does make sense. Most other things do not, however. The new technology, the words people use, the way they dress — Hestia feels completely lost in 2024 ( moreso than she did in the seventies ) and doesn’t like it one bit. “Oh, I hope so too! That’d mean I’d be able to get back to my job, and I would love a bit of my old routine back. As well as my bed.”
kingsley gave hestia a rare, genuine smile; running into a friend was a nice change from the bewildered strangers he’d encountered thus far. “your apartment’s gone as well, eh?” he knew better than to think the flat he’d rented in diagon alley would still be available, but he was lucky in that ancestral homes stayed true to their name and didn’t change hands much, and his older self had apparently moved back to the shacklebolt’s estate sometime between the 70s and now. “if you need a place to stay, i’ve got a guest bedroom,” or three, “you’d be more than welcome to make use as long as you need.”
