“Let the sun fill me up again, let the sun light me up, don't let it dim.”
Connor King was born in a small town in Southern California and the limitations placed upon him were never enough to hold him down. His parents, Jeff and Sable King, knew that their boy would accomplish great things if he could only overcome the poverty he was raised in. He was the eldest of five, a child turned surrogate parrent who never received the attention he felt he deserved – at least not at home. However, at school and with the neighborhood kids, Connor was almost literally a king. He was smart, outgoing, charismatic – everyone liked him and that would get him far.
Connor breezed through school, his attention span causing him the only troubles he experienced. Even through his high school years, Connor didn't experience much difficulty with anything – he made friends easily, could pick up random jobs better than most and could talk his way into and out of any situation. He couldn't wait to get out of Needles and, when he turned eighteen, he headed straight for Los Angeles, hitch hiking the entire way.
Once in LA, Connor meat the Boone family and became close friends with the eldest son, James and, eventually, the rest of the Boone family – their youngest, Jefferson, becoming quite enamored with Connor before the end of a year. Less than three years after arriving in Los Angeles and making a home for himself not too far from the Boone household, Connor was drafted into the Vietnam war – at his side was James Boone, the eldest of his brothers. They shipped off together, Connor swallowing his fear in order to settle his best friend's nerves. Once in Nam, Connor did his best to do his job and get it over with, trying not to keep too many of the atrocities he saw and experienced with him. The same could hardly be said for James and, a few weeks shy of the end of the war in 1975, James was shot and killed.
Connor was devastated and disappointed in himself to have to come home to the Boone family and explain to them that their James had not made it. Despite his best efforts, he'd let them down. To his surprise, while they were upset, they were happy to see Connor safe and that made him feel just a little bit better. He wouldn't have to leave again, or try to find a new family to fit in with. The Boone's still wanted him.
The war changed Connor, he began to see things differently and reflected on life in a different manner. While he was still the charismatic man who could own any room he walked into, he was more solemn and somber upon his return. And Jefferson Boone noticed it. The two became closer than Connor thought possible with a boy seven years his junior. He spoke to Boone about all of his dreams and aspirations, never really thinking they'd take it anywhere, but Boone fed into it and, before he knew it, the pair of them along with some of their closest friends purchased motorcycles and began to live out Connor's philosophy.
Connor and the others rode around the United States for a while before he met and fell in love with Audrey Collins up in a bar in Stockton – somewhere she didn't belong. He took her along with him and the others, making her the first old lady of their motorcycle club, telling her all the while how he wanted a family and a place to call home. A base city or town for the club – Audrey suggested her hometown of Leetum Moors. The place was small and she was familiar with it. Most importantly, it wasn't even an hour outside of Stockton. It didn't take much to sell Connor on the idea and, soon thereafter, the Kings of Chaos set up shop in the tiny hometown of Connor King's wife.
Connor was twenty-seven when Audrey gave birth to their first son. Connor had never felt such pride or happiness until he saw and held Chad for the first time and, over the next five years, they had two more sons named Charlie and Chase respectively. Connor found that the only thing he did better than running a motorcycle club was being a father. He taught his sons everything he knew and did his best to give them all equal amounts of attention, not wanting for them to ever feel inadequate. Whatever special attention Audrey gave to Chase, Connor tried to counter it, though he did know that there was something different about his youngest son – his two older sons could not suffer because of it.
When not being Father of the Year, Connor was busy with his club. Over the years, a few bad apples were allowed into the club and, while the Kings expanded, Connor didn't particularly like the direction in which they were going. The money from the guns and association with the RIRA was good and he needed it for his boys, but the ever looming danger of a prison sentence didn't seem worth it to him. Connor groomed Chad for the president's seat while he and Boone tried to work out a few kinks within the club.
After an unsuccessful attempted vote out of Jacob Rush, Connor became suspicious and paranoid. He believed Jacob wanted his place at the table and, as far as Connor could tell, he needed less than two years for his son to be fully patched in and to take the seat from him in the event of his death. The closer it drew to his fateful accident, the more closed off and detached Connor became. It was as if he knew there were plans for his assassination.
Connor spent the next seventeen years trying to piece his life back together, trying to put names to the faces he saw in his dreams. Over time, it eventually occurred to him when he saw members of the Kings of Chaos in Stockton. There was a familiarity about the name and insignia that had him following the members of the club right back into Leetum Moors and into the lives of his wife and children once more.
Connor has helped his son get the club back toward the right direction since his return a year ago. He's an active member of the club but holds no position of power other than founder. He doesn't want it but he does wish to influence his middle son and now president, Charlie. He worries for the future of his boys and his legacy but, now that things are turning around, he's ready to sit back and relax and make up for lost time.
+ Charismatic, intelligent, influential
- Quiet, paranoid, distrusting
Jefferson Boone: Boone has been one of Connor's best friends for a long time and, upon his disappearance, the younger man was crushed. For years, the faces of Connor's sons and his wife and his long lost best friend haunted his dreams. Once he made it back to Leetum Moors and saw Jefferson, it was as if none of that time had passed and they went right back to being as chummy as two old friends could be.
Audrey King: Audrey is Connor's wife – but, for all intents and purposes, their marriage is over. He was considered dead for seventeen years and, while Connor still loves the woman, he's not sure she wants anything to do with him anymore – at least not like that. Since his return, he's seen her in public settings and family get togethers, but he's kept his distance out of respect for her.
Alexander Solomon: Alex was another of Connor's good friends. Connor met the man in Leetum Moors and their three sons were all the same age, growing up close together. Because of this, Solomon and King became friends, though their relationship was not as good as Connor's with Jefferson. More often than not, Connor found himself having to be a father figure to the Solomon boys and, while it was not something he minded doing, he felt bad for the boys and it caused many an argument between himself and Alex.
