For a few moments there was that blissful silence that Houtarou loved, but it didn’t last very long, as to be expected. Glancing back up at the girl when he heard the sound she made, the brunet shrugged. “It’s fine, Chitanda. It’s nothing I’m not use to.” He tried his best to smile at her before he realized that he didn’t know to.
she watched him, silent, his attempt at a smile doing nothing to reassure her. She knew what he did for her, and she knew she put him out more often than not, but her gluttony for knowledge often overrode her guilt. Not today, it seemed. ❝ I see... ❞ She sighed softly. ❝ Oreki-san, if I was a burden to you, you would tell me, wouldn't you? ❞

On Monday, the F train. Fourth car in, going north. Again on Wednesday. It’s Thursday and she’s perched between the stone forelegs of the lion bracketing the left of the library stairs; her legs folded beneath her, the book on her lap so enormous it’s a miracle it hasn’t compacted her thighs. Friday in a plum dress with a lace hem orbiting her ankles. Saturday in Brooklyn. They don’t see her on Sunday. They try but don’t. On Monday the F train.
She’s got to be a tourist, the way she looks at everything; like every flock of half-crippled pigeons is only a bunch of exceptionally dirty birds of paradise. New York is full of tourists. It’s especially full of girls. There’s no reason this one should have them trailing the city in broad daylight or watching her after the streetlights come on, just to make sure they’re the scariest thing following her home. but oh, oh—
—isn’t she pretty? She’s pretty and she smells like a cake. «<
new york is strange, and amazing, and big, and her wide eyes can't take in everything at once, no matter how wide she opens them. It's all she can do to keep butterflies from appearing at random or her hair from twisting around her ankles like countless snakes, each individual hair with a mind of its own. Her English is all right (Oreki's is better), but he's too lazy to leave the hotel, which is why she ends up venturing on her own -- as dangerous as that may be.
But they came here for a reason, and she intends to see it through, no matter how long it takes -- days, weeks, months, though she hopes it doesn't come to that. She just wants answers, wants to understand herself better, wants to know why and how she can make things appear that aren't really there. She's just so damn curious.
The streets are dark, and the lamps have lit, and there is noise everywhere, and she is so lost. The trains are so complicated, and Kamiyama City is so small in comparison, and all Eru can do is sigh.

"There was an incident in the boys bathroom, I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it. The chemistry club blew up a stall by accident, so they’re remodeling." He finished the explanation with a sigh, it was so much effort.
❝ now that you mention it... I do remember hearing about that. ❞ At last, she sat back, eyes dimming. For a moment, she was quiet before letting out a startled sound, like she'd been struck by a bolt of lightning. ❝ I - I'm sorry, Oreki-san... Have I bothered you again? ❞

” So eh.. what were we doing again?”
momentary confusion clouded Eru's face before she let out a slight gasp. ❝ That's right! I was going to suggest we go to this shop that sells homemade mochi! But I wasn't certain if that was something you'd be interested in. If it's not, I can think of something else! ❞

◊♥♥○○♥♥◊ Japan is such a weird country, and that is probably the reason why she likes it so much. Imaginary runs here wild, and that is one of the key traits of our small zodiac. Still, sometimes it got too weird though, like the question the girl before her asked. "E-excuse me, but could you repeat that?"
head tilting, Eru regards the unusual, pink-haired girl with bright eyes. ❝ I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. ❞ A kind smile softens her face and dims the curiosity in her eyes. ❝ I was asking about your hair. It's very... vibrant. ❞

Houtarou let out a sigh. Actions speak louder than words. “Maybe you heard some of the construction work? They’ve recently started remodeling part of the school.”
her expression shifted, impressively quickly, her mouth forming a small 'o' as he explained. ❝ Construction? Remodeling? But why? ❞
Title: Escape from ____ City (Haven’t thought of a name yet…) Genre: Steampunk, wizardry, post-apocalyptic Era: Everywhere… Brief Synopsis: A world in which magic and Steampunk collide. Wizardry is a common art, and, although not many possess the gift, the ones that do don’t have much power at all. They can cast a few illumination spells or cause a spark at their fingertips, but that’s it. A few children, however, are particularly gifted, and the tyrannical government has gotten wind of them. In order to escape the grasp of the assassins dispatched to wipe them out, the kids must scramble across a Steampunk, post-apocalyptic world in search for freedom, liberty, and justice. Other: This would be a great teen rp, and I think it be an epic adventure. Visuals:
/my friend had the idea that if chitanda was a mutant or had a superpower of some kind that she would be able to cause hallucinations but usually it's just stuff like if she gets really excited butterflies appear around her and stuff like that

No. “No. I’m not curious. You were imaging the noise.” He knew it was pointless, for some reason, whenever she said those two words it was game over.
this time, she doesn't say anything. She just pouts.
