This cup is one of Seiryu Kiln’s representative works, titled “Zansetsu” (“Lingering Snow”), inspired by mountains during the spring thaw. The gentle white surface is created by iron naturally emerging through the clay and glaze, giving the piece its soft and quietly expressive appearance.

Sake pot called Kurojoka from Satsuma Ware. (Kagoshima Prefecture) Kurojoka is originally for serving Japanese Shochu, Japanese distilled liquor.
How to use for SHOCHU (not Sake) Pour shochu and water (1:1) in kurojoka and leave it for 1 day. Put Kurojoka on fire (direct fire is fine) and warm it very slowly (don't boil). Shochu will taste very mild and more flavor will come out. This is how people in Satsuma treat guests since hundreds of years ago.

Rectangular plate from Otaru-Kiln in Hokkaido. Otaru Kiln, characterized by its clear blue-green glaze, has come to an end after 107 years of history due to a lack of successors at Otaru Kiln Hakusei Touen, the oldest pottery in Hokkaido. (1900-2007)
Many connoisseurs have loved this Otaru ware, but with the demise of the Otaru Kiln, no new pieces will be produced, and the Otaru ware in use today will likely become a rare and precious item that will never be available again.
