hey, you’re totally good. honestly, we don’t really coin symptom holder roles because they’re pretty much already a thing, yknow? you can just say “so and so alter is a [insert disorder] symptom holder!” without needing an already coined role for it i guess. sorry if this doesn’t make any sense, i’m quite tired right now. if you’re looking for a flag, though, i could probably make you one :)

You've been wildly misinformed on polyminds

We do not force dissociation

We do not force our sub personalities to split

Polymindence was never supposed to get even close to systems as it's completely different experiences

The entire point is that polymindence shouldn't have any real effect on ones daily life and we are just acknowledging our sub personalities, which everyone already has!

We are a DID system who is very anti endo, our co-host is a polymind because they acknowledge their sub personalities modes

It's basically sanders sides with a label

People have wildly taken this harmless term out of context and demonized it for just existing in their own space

this was my original opinion. but the thing you fail to mention is the fact that it does inherently force dissociation and is too similar to IFS without being therapeutic that it’s harmful. when you’re practicing acknowledging sub personalities, it should be done with a therapist. not only that, but it should be what it was intended for— treating mental health. polymindence is considered an identity, not a coping mechanism, not a treatment, THAT’S why it’s harmful (aside from the fact that the original coiner is ok with endos which implies that polymindence could be considered a form of endogenic “plurality”). aside from all that, the community is awful. they steal system terms. for example, fictling? what…? while i know people don’t own common words, it’s still so stupid to me. why do you need to label all of them with their own identities? that will inherently cause dissociation.

regardless, i’m annoyed with how many people are trying to explain to me why polyminds “arent harmful.” you’re not gonna change my mind. when i realized how similar polymindence was to endos, that’s when i stopped supporting them.

any future asks about polymindence willl be deleted.

I honestly thought polyminds were the same thing as sort of idk how to explain... Taking on different aspects of your identity and dissociating non pathologically (idk if I spelled it right but it's kinda like the dissociation for daydreaming, not in the way a person with ptsd/did/etc would).

But I read all those anons and shit and I'm like... What?? Do these people actually treat themselves as separate people NOT in a healing way???
