Happy 20th Anniversary to the 2003 Astro Boy anime series!

The third anime adaptation of Astro Boy debuted on April 6, 2003 on Fuji TV in Japan, where it ran for 50 episodes until March 28, 2004.

It is notable for being the first Astro Boy anime adaptation after Osamu Tezuka’s passing, one of the final anime to use cel animation (about 70% of the 2003 Astro Boy anime is cel animated), and the first Astro Boy anime adaptation to feature a new voice actress for Atom in Japan (Makoto Tsumura took over for Mari Shimizu).

PLUTO ANIME TO RELEASE IN 2023

After years of rumors, Netflix Japan has released a 4 minute trailer for the anime adaptation of the Pluto manga.

Produced by Masao Maruyama, the Pluto anime will release worldwide in 2023.

As stated by Netflix Japan:

Naoki Urasawa × Osamu Tezuka “PLUTO”, which has won manga awards both in Japan and overseas, has finally been animated for the first time! The world’s long-awaited work, the pre-release PV has been released! !
