so there's eclipse!

the result of sun and moon attempting to come online at the same time, and blurring together into one being as a result. a bit more lore/rambling under the cut

the general principle is basically like:

neither of the two have complete control over the system, and besides their domains in the system have about as much control as your average human user does, the core is still more or less out of their reach

Eclipse, however, ends up essentially "breaking" the part that dictates what access the current acting module is supposed to have and defaults to what we generally know as root access. in other terms making the entire system their domain, from basic file management to core system functions, such as boot manager or device drivers

the two can't stay as eclipse for long though, due to the combined AI gradually "unblurring" and eventually separating back into the two separate people they are.

it's unknown whether it's an intentional design, but it does prevent the two from potentially breaking the system beyond repair

REM’s speciality is projection, and it’s particularly immersive within his Dreamland (nap time zone). The palms of his hands and left eye serve as the projectors, casting whimsical figures and winds of golden “sand” to enchant the kids. 

Good children may receive a special gift — a little satchel of dream sand — before leaving so they might always keep the “magic” with them. 

Remmy can use the projection ability outside of Dreamland, but it’s not as effective in daylight.
