Loved - A SRMTHFG mini comic

A mini comic I felt inspired to do thanks to the Holy Shuggazine discord group. Even though he is the main character of the show, Chiro is one of the least explored characters. We know less about him than the monkey team he is part of!

Oh well, at least there is plenty of space for us to interpret him as we want. :D

are there any Antauri-based sickfics anyone can recommend?

Antauri seems like the type to never ask for help, or complain about pain, and he’s good enough at hiding symptoms that you probably wouldn’t even notice anything’s wrong until he’s got a foot (or two) in the grave. I wrote a fic about him breaking his leg and trying to say he’s fine.

the stranded seven was intriguing for me, because antauri was pretty much comatose for the second half of the episode. 

i, chiro was horrifying for me, because the great and infallible antauri had major damage to the brain stem and was barely able to talk. The optical cortex stuff is also in the area, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was kinda going blind as well. 

If it takes that much for us to notice if something’s wrong, what’s the limit? 

Perhaps he gets a ‘mild’ cold one day, and ignores it/keeps it from the team and fights through it. He tries to treat it with chamomile tea and next thing you know he’s got a 102 degree fever and gibson has to hook him up to an iv because he’s floating in and out of consciousness.

Or on the mechanical side, his jetpack gets knocked slightly out of alignment, putting pressure on his spine. He just ignores the back pain, floating whenever possible because that relieves a little pressure. Until Otto walks behind him for more than a few seconds and notices the slight mishap, is like “hey can i fix this it’ll be real quick?” only for weeks of pain to be gone in an instant. 

Like he definitely does this for mental health things too, but that’s a subject for an angsty fic, not a fluffy “awww ill take care of you” fic

It's my top fave childhood show and I just want to see it finished (esp Chiro's backstory). It's actually one of my biggest artistic influences and I got into Polysics bc of it

#MANDY AND TAURIS FIRST DAY ON KOROLLADAL

“And you will continue to do it until you do it right,” Mandarin snaps.

“Well, maybe I’d have gotten it right by now if I had a better teacher!” Chiro can feel his temper rising.

Fury slides over Mandarin’s face. “Listen here, boy. You will find no better teacher anywhere on Shuggazoom.”

“Then maybe I’ll just have to look off of it,” he snaps.

Mandarin snorts derisively. “Be my guest,” he says, tone lilting mockingly. “Your only other choice is the Veron Mystics, boy, and I promise you—you’ll tire of them within a week.”

Chiro’s temper subsides, momentarily, as curiosity takes its place. “You’ve never mentioned the Verons before,” he accuses.

Mandarin rolls his eyes. “Of course I haven’t.”

Chiro scowls. “Who are they, Mandarin?”

“A bunch of masked lunatics on the other side of the galaxy,” Mandarin says, waving a hand dismissively. “Supposedly they’re the foremost experts on the Power Primate. But believe me, the title is overrated. They spend all their time stuck in their temples, looking down on the rest of the world, and leaving those like you and me to protect the galaxy from evil. They’d take one look at you and lock you away forever in the name of ‘training.’ Which means, I’m the best—and only—option you have. Now, do it again.”

Chiro growls, but he slides into position and summons the Power Primate to his call once more. He’ll do it perfectly this time — if only out of spite.

@monkeymindscream - the aforementioned monkey swap ‘verse… or what i have of it xD it needs a lot more planning than what i have but!! i think this would be the lead in on this ‘verse’s “Secret of the Sixth Monkey” adaptation. (secret of the… five monkeys? idk)

HOW’D I MISS THIS

Fuckin’ YESSSS I am sosoSO behind Mandarin being super dismissive of the Verans despite having learned probably most of what he knows from them! And sweet Jesus feckin CHILDREN the both of you. That said this is almost definitely what would’ve happened if things had played out like this, and there had been no one else around to intervene. Petty arguments abound.
