sometimes he forgot just who camila REALLY WAS. a deadly, fierce and unstoppable force of nature, capable of ending him in a moment’s notice if she really wanted to. he was so used to holding her close, kissing her soft skin, feeling her warmth that the parts of her that were HARDER — like him — were obscured. when she pushed him back he was reminded of just how passionate she was.
❝ because they were taken from you before you could say goodbye. ❞ he knew the feeling. he knew it SO WELL. ❝ because it was unfair and it shouldn’t have happened. they were GOOD and they LOVED you and now they’re dead. you SHOULD feel angry. ❞ there would be time for sadness and melancholy, and they should would come. pain had many faces and it demanded humans experienced all of them.
❝ and it was my fault. this entire… WAR, all the fighting. everything that led to their demise. it’s on me. so take it out on me. ❞
They were good and they loved her. Those words were enough to break the wall she had put up, those words were enough to make hot angry tears spill down her face.
❝They were weak.❞
She hated saying it. The words tasted bitter and ugly in her mouth. She hated the words --- she hated Anders --- she hated it all.
❝This isn’t your fault.❞
An intense heat bubbled beneath her skin and she took several steps away from him, holding her hands up in front of her. Flames licked at her fingertips, coated her hands and forearms. The edges of her sleeves began to smoke. Don’t come near me, she thought. Don’t see the monster I am.
❝I’m going to find him. And I’m going to kill him.❞
