"You're Arthur Kirkland, correct?" She's staring at a piece of paper, as well as several envelopes, and then back up at the other, brow furrowed. "At least I hope you are- I've gotten your mail- and I'd like to speak with you."
Arthur looked up from the case file he was perusing, a bit startled since he was deep in concentration. His breath caught in his throat upon recognising her as Anneliese Dittmar, the District Attorney and his superior. It was quite disarming to encounter her at his place of residence, and a part of him worried that he was in some sort of trouble.
“Yes, that would be me.” He managed to say calmly, probably with the help of adrenaline. It would be respectful to somehow convey that he did recognise her, but he didn’t quite know how to say it. “Of course, Miss Dittmar.” He stood and put the file away.
malefactormenace:
If anything, she was exhausted, nursing a strain in her shoulder and hanging on a few threads of alertness. “Mm, I find it odd, how many coworkers I’m meeting in this place. Though, I suppose a new building is rampant with opportunities.” She paused, glancing around the building. “I wonder what the appeal is.”
At his question, Anneliese nodded, holding out the thin stack. “Nothing exciting, I’m afraid. Though, your magazine tastes certainly don’t line up with mine in the slightest.”
“Well, I suppose the location helps.” He adjusted his glasses and continued, “It’s equidistant from most of the important places in the city; I know that I chose this place due to its proximity to the DA’s Office and the precinct. Their reasoning was probably similar.”
“I see,” He calmly took the small bundle and tucked it under his arm. “That’s alright; to each their own.” Arthur was...pretty sure that there weren’t any lewd magazines in there, but if any had been mistakenly placed there...he’d trace the source of the error and give them a piece of his mind. An..unfortunate delivery like that would have been humiliating, not to mention a horrible first impression to give to his boss.
