How to not stress about exams

I know we all stress before our finals, here is what helped me!

1. Good meals- I know when studying you never have time to eat, but you have to make sure you're eating a correct amount of food! Always helps me when I am full. 

2. Sleep- Do not do more than your body can handle. If you feel tired take a nap and study when you get up. Pulling all nighters is not healthy, nor is it a good way to study for finals. 

Those are my tips for not stressing too much! do not do more than you can handle. You will do great on your exams!

how to prepare for exams

Studying for exams is a tricky thing. There are many ways to help prepare you for an exam. 

1. Study Guide- A good looking colored coordinated study guide has always been a game changer for me. Looking at pretty colors and fonts always makes me want to study for longer than I usually would. 

2. Flash Cards- Flipping through flashcards is an easy and quick way to study. Write down all of your definitions on the cards and study for at least an hour a day leading up to the exam, and you will do perfect.

Favorite class

I take speech, journalism, criminal justice, and biology. 

My favorite is definitely criminal justice because it is so interesting to me. Understanding the justice system is super fun to me. I want to be a lawyer one day, which is why I find criminal justice so fun. 

If you have the opportunity to take it I definitely recommend it.

My favorite animals

I love animals and have many favorites

1. Beluga whale- I have always thought beluga whales are the cutest animals ever. I even have a beluga whale snowglobe, I have had it since 5th grade 

2. Horses- I have always loved horses, and have always felt the need to help horses. We have two rescue horses that I love so much and its been great helping them. 

3. Dogs- Dogs are the cutest and most sweetest animals. They are so innocent and I love them so much.

Tips for school

For high schoolers,

1- Work hard- It'll be worth it when you are getting into your dream colleges. 

2- Do not worry about others- Other peoples opinions do not matter. Always be true to yourself and do not worry about what others think of you

3- Have fun- Enjoy your high school years while you can. Looking back at it you will realize how much fun you truly had. Make the most out of it!!

Why I love horses

-Connection- I do not think anyone understands a horse and riders connection until you have one. My horses name is sox and we instantly connected the first time I rode him. His old owner even said “ I've never seen him do this good” 

-They are cute- Horses are the most precious animals. they are huge teddy bears. My favorite are mini ponies, cutest things ever. 

If you want a horse GET ONE!!!

why community college is a great option

1- It is cheaper- A community college is a lot cheaper than going to a university. You do not have to worry about the insane housing bills, or the meal plans. You're able to stay home and save up a lot of money

2- Another big thing about staying at a small college is you get more one on one help from your teachers. If you're like me and always need extra help to succeed staying at a community college is definitely a good option for you.

Why I chose my major

Criminal justice has always been something i am truly passionate about. I watch so many true crime videos, at least one a day. One day I want to become a lawyer and here's why.

1. I want to help people- I think that everyone deserves justice, and I want to make sure everyone gets that. The system has failed a lot of people and I want to try my best to help whoever I can. I want to make a change and be an advocate for those who do not have a voice.

Favorite horse movie

My all time favorite movie is called Flicka, here is a little summary about it and why it is my favorite. 

 Flicka is a movie about a teenager named Katy who dreams of working on her dads farm. She was riding one of her horses on her land when she came across a mountain lion which spooked her horse which made her fall off. She was terrified and A wild black mustang chased the mountain lions away which saved her. She ended up bringing Flicka in and they had a connection, but her dad sold Flicka to another rancher. Flicka ended up at the fair in the wild horse race and katy knew she could win her back so she signed up and ended up being able to get on her and take off out of the fair. They ended up in the woods and a mountain lion ended up attacking Flicka leaving her very hurt, Katies family found her and took Katy back to the house. Katies dad took his gun to take Flicka out of her misery but Katy looked at him and said “its okay daddy you can shoot us”. He did not end up shooting Flicka, he killed the lion

1- It is my favorite because it teaches people about horses and the connection between the horse and its owner. 

2- Flicka ends up being okay, and they have a happy ending. 

3. You get to watch Flicka warm up to Katy, and see their connection be made. 

10/10 movie. I recommend it to anyone who likes horses. Its the best!!!

What to do when you're at a new school

Transitioning to a new school is HARD. I have had to do it many times, and here's what helped me.

1. Do not be afraid to talk to new people, it is a lot harder to make friends when you keep to yourself. 

2. Join clubs, when I went to my new high school I joined clubs as a way to make new friends and it was so helpful. 

3. Do not let mean people put you down. Theres definitely mean people at every school, but that does not mean everyone is. Do not let one mean person ruin your experience at your new school.

How to find your missing dog

I have had two of my dogs run away, but thankfully they have come home. 

1. Check all shelters to check if someone brought your dog in. 

2. Give a description to all local vets incase someone brings your dog in injured or to check for a chip. 

3. Check surrounding areas.

4. Post on your local lost and found Facebook group. When my dog went missing someone picked him up and posted him on the page.

5. FYLERS FYLERS FYLERS. Flyers are a go to when having an animal go missing.

How to find a missing cat

My cat recently went missing, but we found her thanks to these tips. 

1- Put the cats food, water, litter box, and a piece of clothing that smells like you outside. 

2- Check the bushes and trees surrounding your house. 

3- Call every vet and local shelter to give them a description of your cat incase it is brought in. 

4- Post flyers all around your town, and post on the lost and found Facebook group.

How to choose your major

Choosing something to do for the rest of your life at such a young age is an extremely difficult thing to do. Here are some things that helped my decide. 

1. Pick the major that makes you happy, regardless of the money you make doing it. If something is your dream but it means you wont make a ton of money still do it. You would rather be happy than miserable.

2. Volunteer - Volunteer and figure out if that is what you want to actually want to do. You cannot just hop into something expecting to love it if you do not know, volunteering is such an easy way to see if you enjoy it. 

3. Do not stress- You are always allowed to switch your major if you become unhappy with it. Everything will work out!!

My horses

I have a lot of horses. My families love for horses started when we got our mini pony fallen who sadly passed away last year. He was my favorite pony ever. 

1- Fallen- He was a mini pony, and was 7 year old when he passed away. 

2- Howie- He is 4 years old, and is a mini pony. 

3- Sox- He is my show horse, and is a bay warmblood. 

4- Mikey- He is a black British pony. 

5- Bill- He is a Thoroughbred, and was our first showing horse.

MY DOGS

My dogs are my favorite things in the world. They all have a different personality and I love them so much!!

1. Seamus- He is a mix, and im not too sure what he is mixed with. He is 12 years old and is the most active dog ever, he spends his entire day running around. 

2. Tula- She is a lab mix and we adopted her from the spca 5 years ago. She is definitely a little crazy and dumb but we love her so much. 

3. Usher- He is a pug and we got him 11 years ago. He spends his day laying on his bed, or sunbathing outside. He is black, but it pretty gray because he is older. 

4. Teo- He is a pug chihuahua mix. He is 6 years old and is the cutest little thing. He is crazy and likes to jump on the counters. 

5. Sally- She is a lab mix and is 7 years old. She is the most behaved dog we have and we are very thankful for at least one trained dog. She is precious.

Favorite colleges

I am planning on transferring to a big school. Here are my 4 of my favorite schools in South Carolina. 

1. College of Charleston- Beautiful campus in the city, and a 20 minute drive to Folly Beach. Charleston is also very historic which is awesome. 

2. University of South Carolina- Fun football games and is in the city. Since its in the city theres a lot of stores to shop at, and amazing restaurants

3. Clemson- Closed in campus so its super safe, and they have one of the best football teams in the country. 

4. Coastal Carolina- Pretty campus, and is at the beach. If you cannot tell already I LOVE the beach.
